The Trump administration yanked roughly $400 million in grants and contracts from Columbia University on Friday, citing the school’s noncompliance with anti-discrimination laws.
The funding cancellation comes after months of antisemitic harassment and intimidation on the Morningside Heights campus — with pro-Hamas slogans proclaimed by demonstrators and the NYPD eventually being called in to restore order last April.
“Since October 7, Jewish students have faced relentless violence, intimidation, and anti-Semitic harassment on their campuses — only to be ignored by those who are supposed to protect them,” said Secretary of Education Linda McMahon in a statement.

DOJ, HHS, ED, and GSA are taking this action as members of the Joint Task Force to Combat Anti-Semitism. Columbia University currently holds more than $5 billion in federal grant commitments.
Columbia University is the WORST for pro-Hamas and antisemitic demonstrations!
But that may well not be the fault of Columbia’s NSF and NIH science grantees and their students and staff!
And I wonder if they have foreign students with pro-Hamas sympathies who should be deported!
All of the above applies to Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Tufts, etc.
The reasoning of yanking the grant doesn’t matter. Many federal grants that benefit the liberal “infrastructure advantage” must be terminated.
It has to be done or the liberal hegemony over all important institutions will continue.
Why is a private college getting any taxpayer money?
