Brazil warns Trump effect risks 'triple negative' for climate

NEW DELHI, March 6 (Reuters) - Action to curb global warming is at risk from a "triple negative" effect triggered by the return of U.S. President Donald Trump to the White House, Brazil said on Thursday, as it prepares to host U.N. climate talks later this year.

Trump has withdrawn from the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, launched a trade war with Canada, China and Mexico, and upended U.S. policy on the war in Ukraine.

Brazil's Environment and Climate Change Minister Marina Silva told reporters in Delhi, speaking through a translator, the "increasingly complex geopolitical context", characterised by turmoil and trade tariffs, risked disrupting progress on curbing climate change.

Since the disruption of Trump's prioritisation of the United States over helping to solve global problems and provide international finance, Silva said other countries may feel they have to redistribute finances to areas such as defence.

She cast doubt on the agreement reached at last year's COP summit to triple financing to poor nations to $300 billion annually by 2035, saying it "cannot be taken for granted".

President Trump knows a scam when he sees it… And he certainly sees climate change that way.

That Hawaiian volcano is putting more greenhouse gases, CO2, methane, and particulate pollutants in the air than 100 years of anthropogenic "pollution".

Every day it is doing this.

What humans do to the environment is a big nothingburger by comparison.

We should intelligently help restore polluted regions of the earth, but most of the time it fixes itself.

It can certainly handle anything humans throw at it.

Asteroids and volcanos, not so much.

The United States met the terms of the Paris accord for decreased CO2 under Trumps first term.

The problem is that the Paris accords do not effect release by any of the big co2 producing nations.....LIKE CHINA.

We did our part, the accord is now stupid for us, and Brazil needs to speak with those doing the release. I am certain that China can’t wait to listen.

I saw the movie, “Brazil”. It was a very good foreshadow of what is coming if we don’t stop this Globalist insanity.

Americans are supposed to worry about what this moron thinks. She needs to come back when she learns to speak English. It’s the Brazil effect that is destroying South America.

Man’s contribution to greenhouse gasses and co2 is so scant considering that the atmosphere is 6 quadrillion tons, that it is really asinine to suggest that man is doing anything to “warm the planet”

What we produce amounts to less than 0.04%, much less. The amount of co2 is less than 0.04%, which gets easily absorbed, and will never ever be enougn ot cause any kind of “catastrophic warming”.

Think of it this way, man’s co2 takes up abput as much atmosphere as say a 0.04% by surface area piece of cloth would take up on an average person. I’m pretty sure that insignificant piece of cloth will not cause any “catastrophic warming” on the person.

Another way to think about it is to take 4 five gallon pails full of 100 degree water, and dump them into an Olympic sized pool of water that is 90 degrees. Doing so will not change the pool’s temp at all, and the 100 degree water will quickly reach equilibrium and no “catastrophic warming” took place.

The left needs to sacrifice themselves to the climate change gods by jumping in the volcano.

--- "a 'triple negative' effect"

Okay, I bid a quadruple negative effect, and then she can bid quintuple, and so on. Let's play the innumerate game! It's a rhetorical gem!

And here she is, appearing in one of our favorites forums....

It's amusing how "climate" always reduces down to "send us more money."

she cast doubt on the agreement reached at last year's COP summit to triple financing to poor nations to $300 billion annually

The "triple threat" is that the gravy train of transfer payments from the US to Brazilian NGOs (which will employ her when she is out of office) is about to be shut off.
