The optimal solution, from day 1, has been Ukraine military junta running Ukraine who are Russia friendly.

No need for peacekeepers. The Junta can be purely technocrats. If NATO wants them, it can be discussed.

But in the most general sense, all these difficult problems are solved with a Russia friendly Ukraine military govt. The gas will flow thru Ukraine and the transit fee can fund rebuilding.
