The state court sentenced Milorad Dodik to one year in jail and a ban on holding office as Republika Srpska's president for six years - a verdict that Dodik called 'nonsense' and has vowed to ignore.
Dodik’s and Lukic’s trial began in February last year. They were accused of knowingly defying decisions issued by High Representative Christian Schmidt in July 2023.
Hans Сhristian Friedrich Schmidt (born 26 August 1957) is a German politician serving as the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina since August 2021. He is a member of the Christian Social Union.
