Russia launched 267 drones into Ukraine on Saturday night, according to the Ukrainian air force, in the largest such attack of the war, as both nations prepare to mark three years since Moscow launched its full-scale invasion of its western neighbor.
Russian drone and missile attacks have for months been a nightly occurrence. But Saturday night's 267 drones were the largest-ever such bombardment, breaking the previous record of 193 drones set in a December attack.
Ukraine's air force said it shot down 138 Shahed attack drones, with 119 others lost in flight without causing any damage. Three drones flew into Belarus, the air force said in its statement to Telegram.
"Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Poltava, Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia regions were affected by the enemy attack," the air force wrote.

Peace in 7 days? It’s looking doubtful.
Not a one got through, really! Don’t look at our bombed out cities, we tore them down to rebuild.
A very large Shahed attack on Ukraine was mostly repelled overnight. Russia launched 267 Shahed drones and simulator type drones. A total of 138 were shot down and 119 more were suppressed by electronic warfare.
Ten Shahed drones made it to their target.
And in his last round of golf kim scored 17 holes in one!
The Ukrainians shot down 312 of the 267 drones.
Lots of Russian GDP
This is Putin’s negotiation style, enjoy.
Peace for our time.
‘This is Putin’s negotiation style, enjoy.’
A show of strength is part of negotiating. Do you think the proper way to negotiate is to deliver pallets of cash to your adversaries like the democrats do?
WWII was won with brute force. Would there have been an equitable peace if the allies just caved in to Hitler instead of launching D-Day?
And I bet you think bombing Japan was just a horrible way to end the war.
Hey Poof, are you “eyes on”
in Yookland or something? Or are you hitting the hopium pipe again?
Not a single one got through because we targeted them with 2 US furnished surface to air missiles which cost a million bucks each. Each Russian Drone costs $50,000
More winning!
Unfortunately, not sure how much more winning we can afford
There is this thing in military logistics that is easier to launch attacks against low priority targets and depleate the front line ammo, grab some stats for the next war, than pack things up for the next war. There are some places and ports where unloading is the only direction. The heaviest of shelling was the last day of WWI on the western front, because it was going to be near impossible to send stockpiles rearwards. Piles of bombs for dropping on germany sat around until even after Korea made them worthy of picking up and putting them on a boat for the 1955-1963 NATO stockpiles.
And of the drones that did get through, the only things they hit were hospitals, nursing homes, and a convent.
