Joe Biden slammed for letting federal department of Interior café fall dormant (Feds all working from home)
UK DAILY MAIL ^ | 21 February 2025 | STEPHEN M. LEPORE

Joe Biden allowed remote work dominate the civil service for so long, a cafeteria in the Department of the Interior remained shutdown years after the pandemic ended.

Similarly, the department of housing and urban development resembles 'a taxpayer-funded Spirit Halloween' that looks almost like no one has been inside since Biden took office.

The Interior was one of many departments that did not require employees to return under the Biden administration and a photo taken Thursday shows it as a complete ghost town, according to Fox News Digital.

'You have federal workers showing up to protest President Trump's plan to make government work for the people on a federal holiday, but they refuse to show up to work when they are collecting a paycheck courtesy of American taxpayers.

Doug Burgum, former North Dakota governor said in a statement: 'Under the Biden administration, there were so few people in the Interior office that the cafeteria closed.

'The American people elected President Trump because they want results,' he said.

'Getting the workforce back to the office will help accelerate America's sprint to Energy Dominance.'

An anonymous source close to the situation said the photo 'shows you exactly what's wrong with the mindset of far too many federal workers.'

While they understood why the cafeteria was closed in the early days of the pandemic, they wondered why Biden was so asleep at the wheel during his presidency that it didn't reopen.

Elon Musk has made returning to in-person work a requirement for those that DOGE does not get rid of.

‘Requiring federal employees to come to the office five days a week would result in a wave of voluntary terminations that we welcome: If federal employees don’t want to show up, American taxpayers shouldn’t pay them for the Covid-era privilege of staying home,’

Letting Federal workers work from home.... what a scam. They only report to the office when they are protesting, that Trump and Elon/DOGE are cutting their jobs

No one cried for those cafeteria workers who lost work because no one was showing up.

Those .gov workers got scammed all this time; they should have gotten free food all day long like Meta Amazon Msft and Goog give their most ‘talented’ peeps.

If so few people were actually willing to work in DC, then it’s hard to blame Cash for sending 1500 FBI agents to nicer places to work.

Biden wasn’t working either - what did he care? Money flowed for everyone in DC under the scummy ones.

... they wondered why Biden was so asleep at the wheel during his presidency ...

I nominate that for "most unnecessary line in a news article so far for 2025."

I bet if Trump told them to stay home and not come in to work, they would be there ASAP!

A closed cafe is the least of Biden's problems......----in early January, the US Treasury which handles some $6 trillion in payments for the various agencies like SS. Medicare, etc, recovered more than $31 million in various federal payments—not limited to S/S—mistakenly sent to deceased individuals. Former Biden Treasury official David Lebryk described the recovery efforts as “just the tip of the iceberg.”

Official portrait-- Biden US Treasury hire, Nigerian Wally Adeyemo. Adeyemo abruptly quit Treasury when Trump came in. Ademeyo refused to handover documents chronicling his Treasury activities wrt some $4.7 trillion in purposefully unidentified Treasury payments.

Earlier, the Nigerian headed “Obama’s Foundation” which soon made Obama “a billionaire.”
Is this why Obama won’t discuss his Foundation finances?

I'm guessing with 1500 DC FBI agents moved the plans for the new FBI building are on hold?

Am I the only one who heard the "New FBI Building to be built" story?

Nope - here’s a recent story on it.

Yeah because it makes a lot more sense to spend money opening and maintaining a building that you really don’t need to have open. What a wise expenditure of tax payer money LOL. Does anyone really even think about the big picture here ??????

Maybe the cafeteria workers were also allowed to work from home. They may have been federal employees.

These government “employees” (I am hesitant to describe most as “workers”) need to learn that they are employees...not paid slackers (as they have been). Get back to work...and work. Taxpayers are tired of your whining and gnashing of teeth. If you don’t or can’t step up and be responsible...you should be fired.

The building cafeterias were cash only operations—employees had to pay for their own meals.

In the massive bureaucracies they served a critical purpose—which could be for good or evil—networking and problem solving outside of the organizational structure.

It was also the only place that a Department Secretary or other senior official could sit at a table with low level workers and just listen to what they have to say and have a detailed discussion about subjects of mutual interest with no spinning—great management approach in any organization.

That was lost with working at home.
