President Trump issued a 90-day moratorium on federal renewable energy projects, including Lava Ridge

Idaho legislators have unanimously voted to oppose the proposed Lava Ridge Wind Project in the Magic Valley, sending a clear message to Congress and President Trump.

The Idaho House of Representatives approved a House Joint Memorial, which serves as a formal letter of opposition to the Lava Ridge Wind Project, proposed on Bureau of Land Management land in Jerome, Lincoln, and Minidoka counties.

This decision comes amid concerns about the project's potential impact on local resources, such as the aquifer.

"This is a House Joint Memorial, which is more like a letter, to Congress and the president acknowledging the work they've done but saying that we're still concerned about this project and we would like to appeal the project and put an end to it," said District 26 Representative (R) Lance Clow.

The Lava Ridge Wind Project faced a setback when President Trump issued an executive order placing a 90-day moratorium on all federal renewable energy projects, including this one.

Idaho lawmakers have expressed their desire to halt the project permanently, citing various concerns.

With the unanimous approval of the House Joint Memorial, Idaho's opposition to the Lava Ridge Wind Project is now formally communicated to federal leaders, reflecting the state's firm stance on protecting local interests.

Idaho should seize the BLM land it’s on if they proceed.

Billionaire T.Boone Pickets planned to have wind farms built but changed his mind when his wife talked him out of it because wind farms kill vast numbers of birds. I didn’t know her, but we both lived in the same SoCal town.

I met Boone once, very nice man.

IMHO, EVERY windmill in the USA should be DISMANTLED at the expense of the Bozos who installed them!

THEY ARE BUTT-UGLY, AND I BELIEVE THEIR LIFE-CYCLE COSTS CONTRIBUTES MORE ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION THAN IS “SAVED!”

IOW, THEY ARE NOT “GREEN!” I DO NOT LIKE THEM!

I’m with you! Their only purpose is to suck up federal money at our expense.

At the link is a 0:58 second time lapse video showing the construction of the base for a wind turbine. No one will ever remove those giant blobs of concrete and steel. They will sit there in the deserts and prairies for centuries.

Amen, we don’t need another million(billion?) dollar “wind farm” with half the generators stopped because they aren’t being maintained because it’s too damned expensive. especially not in Idaho where hydro power is inexpensive.

In the series Landsman, Tommy Norris explains to the female lawyer that each concrete base for a windmill covers 1/3 of an acre, 12 feet deep. (That’s going to last a while.)

The best explanation I have ever seen regarding windmills:

There are no reclamation surety bonds posted for these monstrosities. They have about a 20 year economic operational lifespan. When all the wind power companies go bankrupt, the USA land will be covered with a million of these infernal machines. It will take a $100 billion Superfund III to demolish them and clean the sites. But it will take DECADES to remove all of them.

The steel towers and turbine components can be recycled, but the hundreds of millions of tons of concrete and steel reinforcing bar will stay in the ground forever. The 70 ton blades will be cut into pieces and buried.

I cannot believe how shortsighted the regulators are about this disaster in the making.

States cannot size federal land.

I also cannot go next door to my neighbor’s house and rob him blind.

Both can still be done regardless of the current laws stating I cannot, or that Idaho cannot.

sometimes drastic measures need to be taken because unelected tyrants do whatever the hell they want.

The US constitution supersedes State law. You are arguing against the Constitution.

Are you saying 47 is an unelected tyrant?

It is truly insane.

All for politics and money grabs all based on a hoax climate crisis and supported by constituents who call themselves environmentalists.

They have become the greatest threat to the environment.
