I just make a trip to Dallas and back. Pick SWA.
It was the greatest flight, I had since 9/11. Enough space, and the Dallas Love field is just perfect, small and concise.
I have not flew SWA for a long while, but, I think, they really improved lately!
Looks like they are not cutting flight crews, but bloated overhead.
“Or DEI stopped being mandatory and fashionable!”
that was my first thought regarding massive layoffs in management ...
The unemployment numbers will be mighty interesting the next two months.
Well…. The buck does stop with him and the layoffs are happening at a fast clip.
Adding thousands from government will affect the numbers so yes.
Yep - hoping it’s the dei losers
SWA has been hiring DEI employees at a maximum rate. New hires have been mainly blacks and mid level management appointments have gone to blacks that came to SWA from a predominantly black airline in Atlanta. Hopefully this will correct itself within SWA of the DEI debacle.
A lifetime ago I made the runs from Midland to either Houston or Dallas and people rode Texas International just to go shopping in Dallas. Then came SWA.
Hot girls in hot pants and vinyl boots are a cherished memory of the past. Flying was fun back then even if you made the run every week or every day.
What is ailing airlines so much these days?
Dallas Love is filled with DEI all standing around talking to their friends.
A problem shows up and suddenly everything comes to a halt as they all stand there waiting for someone to tell them what to do.
I was SHOCKED that this was the same company.
Dallas Love hub for Southwest is DEI central.
Reduce customer service, fail to improve software & reservation systems, and inadequate air crew staffing to "boost shareholder value," i.e., pay themselves fatter paychecks, bonuses and cash in on stock options while the company dies.
They'll undoubtedly tell the bankruptcy judge that they need their pay & bonuses to keep their "talented team" together as they plan how to fleece additional customers and investors.
