Putin won’t accept any NATO peacekeepers... Makes sense. India, Japan and China will need to step up. Also - He appears to accept Ukraine joining the EU... That also makes sense. Now... As soon as he agrees to move his forces back to Russia... A peace deal appears possible.

After that, he’ll need to explain to Russian’s why they needed to kill over 750 thousand Russians to achieve nothing.

Would agree with you. But once you dismantle the sanctions, and agree to allow international banking...allow flights and tourism, and allow oil/natural gas sales.....Russia will be on a economic boom period.

The way that propaganda works....even if all they get is the Crimea...folks will just accept the ‘end’.

They will still be a gutted, industrial mess.

While they will be able to sell their oil, it will tank the price back into the $50s. Russia cannot pump enough at that price to generate enough economic power to get their economy booming.

The demise of hundreds of thousands of military aged men will impact their economy for decades.

The destruction of their armor and field artillery—as well as the damage to their Black Sea fleet will take years to recover.

All this to get a land bridge to Crimea? It really doesn’t seem worth it.

And the BIG loser will be Iran. I am sure there are secret agreements being made about Russia letting the Ayatollahs swing in the breeze.

The big winners? China. And the US.
