NATO boss lauds Trump’s leadership on Ukraine, tells Europe: ‘Get your act together’

The head of NATO on Monday praised President Trump for taking the initiative to pursue an end to the Ukraine war — and knocked Europe for “complaining” instead of getting its “act together.”

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, 58, who has been dubbed the “Trump whisperer,” emphasized the importance of American leadership to ending Russia’s war on Ukraine and suggested that European countries are beginning to step up because of it.

“I have great trust in the American team conducting those talks. Ukraine will be part of those talks, no doubt,” Rutte told Fox News’ “The Story.”

“Europe wants to have a place at the table. Well, I told them, fight yourself a way to the table by coming up with concrete proposals. That is now happening,” he said.

“I absolutely reject that criticism of President Trump’s initiative. I think it is only right that he tries to end this war, and we need American leadership here.”

---- Rutte: "we need American leadership here."

Given the EU is a population of about 450 million, while the US is a population of 340 million, the assertion that "we" -- meaning NATO and Europe, and specifically that Rutte is both NATO and Europe -- the notion that "we" -- them -- "need leadership" begs the question.

When the LEADER of NATO and a bigwig in the EU is calling for "leadership.," he is a political IDIOT. He's the leader of NATO< Ursula von der Leyen is the LEADER of the EU. Time for the leaders to stop passing the buck and lead.

Small problem. They don't want to, when the problems are too intractable. Cowards. Cowards in leadership positions.

Therein is the crux of the matter.

I get the feeling Putin is just pretending he might make a deal now. I don’t think he wants to stop fighting yet. He wants to finish off Ukraine’s military and force a surrender so he can claim victory domestically.

EU lemericans and their leaders. aders still want Ameria to underwrite their seurity and still make derisive remarks about Americans and their leaders. No rational decent Amerian believes thay the EU would actually aid the US in political or military crisis. NATO is an outated useless entanglement. Americans should not be accumulating live well debt for underwriting EU seurity.American live well and would live better without it.

The Russians aren’t making a deal anytime soon.

They have multiple advantages that aren’t changing or going away.

Putin will likely end up keeping the Russian speaking/Russian ethnic eastern region of Ukraine - so he can claim victory.

It recalls the old “How did you go bankrupt?” question, “How did you lose the war?” “Very slowly for a long time, and then very quickly near the end.”

🇷🇺UN ambassador, Nebenzya on the Russian parameters of negotiations in Ukraine

1. Ukraine has irrevocably lost the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions

2. The implementation of new agreements on Ukraine should be handled by the government in Kiev that will emerge as a result of democratic elections.

3. The future Ukraine should be a demilitarized, neutral state, not part of any blocs or alliances.

4. ❗️The EU countries and Great Britain are absolutely incapable of reaching agreements and cannot be a party to any future agreements on Ukraine

“The implementation of new agreements on Ukraine should be handled by the government in Kiev that will emerge as a result of democratic elections.”

That’s reasonable

The Russians can't even cross the Dnieper River. Not with satellites everywhere.

They've already tried to capture Kyiv by using Belarus as staging territory but they failed.

Ukraine is short on manpower but they are making up on that by using drones and satelites.
