It is not impossible that 4580 tons of gold is really 4580 tons of tungsten that has been painted. It has the same density, but it can only be known when tested.

For you Jack Reacher fans, you might remember the “Cleaning The Gold” book. Reacher was part of a crew tasked with cleaning the gold bars at Fort Knox. And having a near eidetic memory, Reacher discovered that the gold bars had the same bazillion digit serial numbers and so the cleaning teams were actually just cleaning the same bars day after. So the actual number of gold bars was hidden.
Maybe Elon will cross check the serial numbers.
If nothing else, Elon can see what some of his net worth would look like if it was converted to gold bars . . .
