Jewish Family Services of Western New York, which operates offices in Buffalo and Niagara Falls, announced Tuesday it would eliminate 15 positions, around 10% of its workforce. “Our staff are incredibly empathetic and dedicated people, and anyone would be lucky to have these individuals working alongside them,” said CEO Molly Carr in a Facebook post. “To those who have supported us during this incredibly difficult time already, thank you. Your support of our work is more critical than ever before.” Advertisement The Trump Administration issued an executive order suspending the Refugee Admissions Program starting Jan. 27, temporarily ending refugee arrivals. The order does not have an expiration date but will be reevaluated every 90 days. JFS opened its Niagara Falls office on 3rd Street this past August, having started limited service in Niagara County in 2021. It helped between 250 and 300 clients from the county, mostly refugees resettling in the region. According to JFS’s impact report for 2024, it helped settle 1,954 refugees who arrived from over 60 countries. The most recent financial data from 2023 showed the organization had $10.9 million in expenses with $10.48 million in revenue, of which $6.6 million comes from federal funding.

And here is a link to Jewish Family Services in San Diego that is shutting down their migrant facility.

The shelter was funded largely through a variety of grants from the county, the state and the federal government. Tax documents show Jewish Family Service of San Diego received $47.9 million in government grants in the fiscal year ending in June 2023, the most recent filing available.
Look at what we found here.
The domino effect is working....
Member subscriptions, fees, donations, memberships or hold raffle sales. Like other private organizations?
If your org exists only as long as the government is handing out money, you are not a charitable org.
It’s like putting your food in sturdy containers because you found some evidence of mice in your kitchen. Then the next morning you find hundreds of starved mice dead on the floor.
Wait until they dig in to Catholic Charities. Now, I hate to paint in broad brushes. Catholic Charities does some very good work. They run a homeless shelter in my City. That has been my experience in many cities. I was skeptical but it runs well. I am talking about the refugee resettlement.
So far we have quite a list of church based NGO’s who rely upon government funding to keep their parent church organization afloat.
CATHOLIC CHARITIES
CATHOLIC RELIEF SERVICES
EPISCOPAL MIGRANT MINISTRY
LUTHERAN SOCIAL SERVICES
JEWISH FAMILY SERVICES
OTHERS?
We have a massive, unsustainable debt burden and a debt service cost that exceeds the budget for national defense. Lots of things need to be cut. Bigly.
And let’s not forget that in Mexico, Catholic Charities is giving out pamphlets on how to sneak into the USA, And the POPE is a foolish leader okaying abortion is not catholic theology....
Yup—the Lutherans will also get hit hard.
Leftists are in many different denominations.
Now hold on a minute. Why don’t these “ incredibly empathetic and dedicated people” donate their time and money to keep doing their wonderful work?
Don’t they care about the marginalized? Come on, do it for the children. What would . . . never mind.
“””The organization also said it has not received any of the $22 million it was awarded last year by the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Shelter and Services Program.”””
Maybe FEMA can now give that $22 million to Hurricane Helene victims in North Carolina.
“”Yup—the Lutherans will also get hit hard.
Leftists are in many different denominations.””
As someone who was raised Lutheran I no longer identify with many of their decisions.
Tax The Churches!
Ever heard of GoFundMe?
Everyone wants “their” cause to remain unaffected. But this will never work unless they are “all” affected somewhat.
Sacrifices and compromises will have to be made. If they are legitimate and serious then efforts to find private streams of revenue will have to be found.
Everyone wants “their” cause to remain unaffected.
Which is why nothing ever changed, until now.
The Pope is weeping for his swamp-rat charities!!!!
What is stopping the vatacin from sharing its gold to feed its minions?
All these religious “charities” need RICO charges for facilitating the illegal alien invasion and suckling at the taxpayer teat.
“Tax The Churches!”
I’m going to disagree with this. If Corporations and businesses are allowed to have loopholes and tax breaks to greatly reduce their taxes, sometimes to almost zero, then legitimate nonprofits who get funding from private sources and truly help people in need should get tax breaks too.
They are NOT ALL guilty...
