Trump’s Energy Secretary Comes Out Swinging With Plan That Takes Sledgehammer To Several Biden-Era Policies
Daily Caller ^ | 2/6/25 | Ireland Owens

Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Chris Wright unveiled his first secretarial order on Wednesday in a move to overturn many of former President Joe Biden’s green energy policies and restore “energy dominance” in America.

Wright’s order aims to reduce energy costs in the U.S. and expand domestic energy production, according to a press release. The order outlines several of the DOE’s plans to improve the U.S. energy sector by tackling issues caused by several Biden-era energy regulations.

The DOE’s order also outlines a plan to begin a comprehensive review of the agency’s Appliance Standards Program to make home appliances and products more affordable for Americans and promote consumer choice for appliances. The Biden-Harris administration led a push toward regulating the use of certain gas appliances, including introducing several stringent efficiency rules for gas stoves and some water heaters.

The DOE also plans to “strengthen” the U.S. power grid’s “reliability and security,” according to the press release. Notably, the Biden-Harris administration introduced stringent emissions standards for U.S. power plants in April 2024, leading to some power grid operators warning that the administration’s standards were pushing the grid toward conditions that could lead to blackouts.

Wright wrote further that the DOE plans to work to “unleash” A

Trump's team is moving fast. The media and Democrats are not sure how to handle it. I don't think their lawsuits are going to stop him. Other than screaming and pulling their hair out there is not much more they can do.

Lower energy costs is essential.

The Biden regime deliberately created cost push inflation by place government barriers and additional regulator costs on US Domestic Energy production. The Biden regime argument was that using the Government regulatory system to stifle domestic production would drive up the price of “fossil fuels” and make “green energy” cost competitive. It would also reduce US Consumerism thus “save the planet” from “Global Climate Change”.

And they did it. US Oil production hit a peak in 2019 of 12.3 million barrels a day. That number was not exceeded until 2023 (going into an election year BTW) of 12.9 million and 2024 13.2 million. That “rate of growth” in the last 2 years was far short of what is need to keep up with US demand.

Energy costs have an exponential impact on end use costs because it increase the production and transportation costs at every step of the process.

For example, it significantly magnifies the cost of everything a farm uses from fuel to pesticides to fertile

Then it is trucked using inflated cost fuel to a processor.

Then processor has to pay higher cost for energy for all the operation to process and package the farm product.

Then the product is shipped to a distributor again at higher then needed fuel costs.

Then the distribution house is paying high cost for energy to do all it operations from running it’s machinery to lighting it’s building.

Then high priced fuel to truck it to the grocery store

Then the grocery store is paying high cost for energy to do all it operations from running it’s machinery (including refrigeration and freezing) to lighting and air conditioning or heating it’s building.

Then the consumer has to either pay high fuel costs to go get the food or high fuel costs to have it delivered

The Biden regime basically recreated the impact of the 1973 Arab Oil Embargo on the US Economy.

From about 1950 to 1973 the world economy enjoyed it longest sustained period of economic prosperity. The keystone of that prosperity was inexpensive energy. Then in 1973 OPEC embargoed oil (mainly to drive up the price) and the world economy suffered a tail spin it did not recover from for a decade.

We need cheap reliable energy to have a healthy growing economy. What ever gets in the way of that needs to be overcome.

They need a lot of backup plans to get around the fed judges that try to block their actions.

Everything on your list should be simple for people to understand. I agree. I think Biden’s handlers deliberately did just the opposite in their quest to destroy the middle class and push them into government dependency. All by pushing the great global climate change lie. A dependent society is so much easier to control.

The media “celebrities” mocks Trump’s plan to reduce inflation and costs because they truly do not understand how plentiful oil and gas fuel the economy and keep prices low.

Trump will beat inflation this time just as he did last time. Keeping energy cost low, but also reducing regulatory burden on commerce at all levels.

When we bought our house, the former owners left a brand new washer and dryer — about three months old. High end and “smart”. You can connect to wifi. 🙄

The washer wouldn’t cover the clothes with water because it’s “efficient”. When we did a load, we’ve be schlepping water in pitchers from the kitchen. Clothes didn’t get clean.

We gave the set to the handyman and hooked up our old Kenmore w/d.

And someone please come and take our low-flow toilets and give us back the real ones.
