Article shows pictures of old and new seals. Bigger polar bear and ram for Greenland and Faroa Islands. Got rid of three crowns from when Greenland ruled Norway and Sweden in the 16th century.

Sure, change your coat of arms.
Go for it.
What are you going to do, fire on us with arrows?

Thinking about Greenland: I keep wondering if the United States can afford to buy and maintain Greenland. We have enough money trouble already with the existing States and Territories -- is it a good idea to saddle ourselves with yet another money sink?
Ditto Panama Canal.

What are you going to do, fire on us with arrows? Since some Freepers claim that Trump only wants to buy Greenland, arrows wouldn't be necessary. A simply "It's not for sale" should suffice to end the matter.
And Denmark has said "It's not for sale." Repeatedly.

"King", OMG, that is so
precious! I suppose that is something akin to "The Burger King", bless his heart!

Ww have 750,000 people living in Alaska.
Denmark failed to develop and spend the resources they need to defend Greenland.
Only 55,000 people in Greenland.
My proposal is that Nuuk remains under Danish jurisdiction. But Greenland will be sold to USA.
Sort of like Hong Kong remained British for a long period of time.

I like the new Greenland coat of arms!

I don’t think Trump really wanted to occupy Greenland or Panama Canal. But he saw that US interests in those places have been neglected by American government and especially Panama is playing fire by letting China take control of the canal. With Greenland, it is a strategic place closer to the US than to Denmark. He saw the possibility of Russia and China make a game for it. His goals are to prevent American interest in the two places diminished.
By making such statements, international focus went to both places and negotiation took place. At the end, he prevents other countries to control Panama Canal and Greenland, and American interests are maintained.

First of all, the Cold War ended in 1991.
And right now, Denmark is all about "saving the environment" so they're not going to develop Greenland.
Eventually, China or Russia will take Greenland from Denmark if we don't do it first.

Umm, in business negotiations a no is not always final. Trump would never have made his decades of dealings and business growth if he went by your statement.

Another result of Trump’s ststement is the local Greenlanders intensity theie efforts to be independent from Denmark.
We will see this development. Maybe another job for USAID ... half j/k

Your British ancestors were subjects of a Danish king (or a few of them). At one time.
Cnut (Canute) for one.

Lawyers are the modern weapon system. They CAN make it difficult.
BTW the Danish national weapon is the Madsen LMG, a very interesting device, if rather obsolete. Look it up.

Opus?
Denmark can more afford to maintain Greenland than us?
The resumption of the Monroe Doctrine is no priority? Keeping Red China out of the Panama Canal is not part of that?
