No matter how often used, treason is one crime specifically defined in the Constitution; making war against the United States or giving aid and comfort to its enemies. Any American in a sensitive field makes regular trips to China, or is hired part time by some Chinese entity such as a college or business as a consultant, is probably spying for them or being a lobbyist for them, probably both.
