CBS Face the Nation moderator Margaret Brennan was taken aback by a Republican congressman stating he supports the “purging of people throughout the State Department.”
In an interview on Sunday morning, Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL) — who chairs the House Foreign Affairs committee — said that he’s on board with a purge of State Department personnel.

Brennan was visibly surprised by the remark.
“I’m sorry, can I follow up on what you just said there?” Brennan said. “You want to authorize purging of State Department personnel? What does that mean exactly?
“Well, if you want to take a look at the State Department, where DEI has been a priority over, let’s say, diplomacy in many accounts, I can give you hundreds of examples of that,” Mast responded. “Let’s list them off. Half a million to expand atheism in Nepal, $50,000 to do … a transgender opera in Colombia, $47,000 to do an LGBTQ trans comic book in Peru, $20,000 a pop to do drag shows in Ecuador. Shall I continue with more examples of where DEI was the priority?”
The CBS moderator pointed out just how minuscule those figures given the scope of the federal budget.
“It certainly seems like there could be a review of things,” Brennan said. “Foreign aid, as you know, is less than 1 percent of the entire federal budget. So we’re talking small amounts of money by comparison.”
“We’re still talking about tens and tens of billions of dollars,” Mast replied.

GET THE CIA OUTTA FOGGY BOTTOM.
For starters.
Margaret Brennan said: “Foreign aid, as you know, is less than 1 percent of the entire federal budget. So we’re talking small amounts of money by comparison.”
When I grew up, I was taught “Look after the pennies and the dollars will look after themselves.”
At my second company, my boss insisted we treat every expenditure we requested as if it were our own money.
Nobody in government has those values and Brennan sure doesn’t either.
The things that State spends money on are absolutely repulsive and it’s no wonder that the USA has a bad reputation around the world. We shove our woke crap in the faces of conservative locals around the world.

In addition DEI has infected the whole government. The radicals implementing DEI throughout the government need to be rooted out and their phony programs gutted.
I don’t care Margaret!
Purge the scourge.
They are the ones that replaced American flags across the works with their rainbow flag, exemplifying their coup d’etat.
Deep State traitors in the positions of power and influence. Brainless sheep empty suit jabbering parasites the others.
Too bad he didn’t preface his response with a “I don’t care what you think Margaret”…. I bet her head would have spun around like Linda Blair from the Exorcist.

House Republicans who have led a nearly two-year investigation into a $500,000 State Department grant to an organization that promotes humanism and secularism are pressing the agency to conduct more diligent oversight after it admitted that the organization may have misused taxpayer funds.
Rep. Mike McCaul, a Texas Republican who chairs the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and Chris Smith, a New Jersey Republican who heads the panel’s human rights subcommittee, have accused the State Department of trying to promote atheism overseas under the guise of advancing religious pluralism, a longtime U.S. foreign policy priority. Rep. Brian Mast, a Florida Republican who chairs the panel’s oversight and accountability subcommittee, has also helped spearhead inquiries into the grant.
For more than a year, the trio has been investigating the decision-making behind the State Department’s April 2021 solicitation bid for a $500,000 grant titled “Promoting and Defending Religious Freedom Inclusive of Atheist, Humanist, Non-Practicing and Non-Affiliated Individuals.” The agency awarded the grant to Humanists International, or HI, an organization aimed at promoting humanism, an outlook and system of thought attaching prime importance to human effort rather than divine or supernatural powers.
In a letter sent to Deputy Secretary of State Richard Verma Wednesday, McCaul, Smith, and Mast charged the State Department with engaging in a “pattern of obfuscation and denial” throughout the investigation in order to “expand atheism networks” overseas. The First Amendment’s Establishment Clause of the Constitution bars the use of tax dollars to promote theocracy, a specific religion or belief system.

Ah, you beat me to it by 22 seconds.
Hey it’s the thought that counts :)
That is TOTALLY irrelevant.
So get this
Feminist woke liberal media now doesn’t want wasteful govt spending cut because “its only 1% of the federal budget”
Yet they will blame Trump for the national debt continuing to rise and not doing anything about it, “he just keeps spending”
I think going forward every Margaret Brennan thread should have that as a meme.
Zeepers try to sell that BS as well, shows where their talking points come from.
And the hits they just keep on coming.
yeah and the corruption probably runs in the billions maybe trillions.
Well Margaret, if it’s no big deal, howzabout sliding me a half a million so I can study perverts and casting couch babes in the MSM on Sunday morning shows. It’ll take about 3 years.... and I’ll do a post on Substack about it.
Just goes to show a strong offense is also a good defense
I’m game for another Brennan gif of ‘aback’ reactions.
She’s tough to watch.
