Freeland: Canadians Are ‘Furious’ Trump Is Challenging Our Sovereignty
Breitbart ^ | February 2nd 2025 | Pam Key

Posted on 02/02/2025 8:57:00 AM PST by ChicagoConservative27

Former Deputy Prime Minister of Canada Chrystia Freeland said Sunday on CNN’s “Fareed Zakaria GPS” that Canadians were “furious” because President Donald Trump had challenged their sovereignty.

Zakaria said, “You’ve talked about, uh, you know, 100% tariffs on some things. You talked about a boycott of American goods, which would not be a formal legal thing, but you’re just urging Canadians to stop buying American goods when they go to grocery stores. Is it also are you also thinking in your proposals of doing something on oil? You know, we import a lot of oil from Canada.”

Trump didn’t challenge any sovereignty. He’s showing Canadians that freedom from government oppression is possible.

No on is challenging anybody’s sovereignty. The U.S. is just asserting it’s obligations to its citizens.

These are the same sort of people who in 1988 wanted the Wayne Gretzky trade to the Los Angeles Kings stopped as they saw it as a threat to Canada’s hockey sovereignty. And at about that time, there was a teacher at my high school who put up posters in his classroom (as this was when the free trade agreement between Canada and the United States was created and passed) featuring caricatures of Brian Mulroney and Ronald Reagan with the caption “Canada Does Not Belong To These Two Men”. Now they want free trade??

I’ve got a lot of problems, but Canadian ones aren’t any of them.

Quite the opposite. Canada is challenging the sovereignty of the United States by insisting our border does not matter and that they can send illegals across it without answering for it in some way.

Well, it has been a long time since any team located in Canada has won the Stanley Cup. If memory serves, it was the Canadiens beating the Kings WITH Gretzky in the early '90s. I remember, because I am a Kings fan, though I prefer Charlie Simmer, Marcel Dionne and Rogie Vachon over Gretzky.

Maybe it’s only the globalists who are furious.

Former Deputy Prime Minister of Canada Chrystia Freeland

The Deputy Prime Minister of Canada is named Freeland?

She should change her name. Canada is hardly that.

A globalist talking about sovereignty. That’s rich. What she means by sovereignty is her ability to torment the Canadian public with her authoritarian socialism. Hardly a citizens view of sovereignty.

If you hear the bullet whiz by, THEN you will know your sovereignty is being challenged.

What sovereignty? We’re just trying to free the monarchical Loyalists from their British and Globalist shackles.

There is no upside for either Canada or Mexico. They will be forced to subsidize their economies to weather the economic storm. Wouldn’t be surprised if both countries eventually went Weimar Republic. Is this the beginning of WWIII or WWIV(depending upon who you talk to)?
