DUBAI (AP) — Syria’s interim president made his first trip abroad Sunday, traveling to Saudi Arabia in a move likely trying to signal Damascus’s shift away from Iran as its main regional ally.

Ahmed al-Sharaa, who was once aligned with al-Qaeda, traveled to Riyadh alongside his government’s foreign minister, Asaad al-Shibani. A photo published by the state-run SANA news agency showed the two men on a jet, likely provided by the kingdom, with a Saudi flag visible on the table behind them.

Saudi state television trumpeted the fact that the first trip by al-Sharaa, first known internationally by the nom de guerre Abu Mohammed al-Julani, would make Riyadh his first destination.

The end of the article is interesting.
"Meanwhile, Syria's interim government still faces challenges from the Islamic State group and other militants in the country. On Saturday, a car bomb exploded in Manbij, a city in Syria's Aleppo governorate, killing four civilians and wounding nine, SANA reported, citing civil defense officials.

"Turkish-backed Syrian rebels had seized Manbij in December, part of a push by Ankara to secure Syrian territory close to its border for a buffer zone."

While the West is trying to paint this latest thug as a "good" thug, after the Biden regime pulled the reward on his head only months ago, he is not atop a stable nation. He's got a target painted on him by other Muslims.

Killing 700,000 Syrians in the process of deposing Assad for THIS?!? Israel had a stable border with Syria. We sign enough deals with enough devils and one of the deals is going blow up on us big time.

Remember Obama and those "red lines?" Sectarian Islam is not A thing. It is many things, and they are not manageable by clever Democrats....

"President Barack Obama's policy toward Syria three years of red lines and calls for regime change culminated Monday in a barrage of airstrikes on terror targets there, marking a turning point for the conflict and thrusting the President further into it.

"The U.S. said Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Jordan had joined in the attack on ISIS targets near Raqqa in Syria."

How Obama came to launch strikes in Syria CNN, 23 September 2014.

Been going on a LONG time, and was an Obama "regime change" project IN MANY LANDS.

The larger frame is Shia-Sunni-Ottoman, with splinter groups vying for a slice of the deadly pie. And Obama and his cronies thought they were so-o-o smart....

This is not over, by a long shot.

He’ll be easier to touch if he is moving around. Think about the guy that was blown up in the middle of Iran.
