Not to sound like a Debbie downer, but doesn’t he have to get the approval of Congress first? Genuinely curious.
I would think so.
That’s a good question.
Allowing the migrants to flood into the U.S. has consequences!
Remember the more money Trump can collect for the treasury is less money required to be collected from income taxes.
I love it that we are winning again.
Why? Biden didn’t ask for permission.
No, Congress gave that power to the Executive a long time ago. They never thought Trump would come back so they didn't get rid of it. Sucks to be Canada, Mexico, and Congress.
It was always going to take a serious, no nonsense man to begin the cleanup of America’s wrecked economy. With no worries about running for re-election Trump will make the hard decisions that no other American politician would be willing to take.
I found this article on the subject
“The executive branch has an unusually broad menu of options when it comes to tariffsâthe president is able to dictate tariff rates, which countries and goods they apply to, and when and how to impose them without Congressional approval and sometimes without public input or judicial review. We canât think of another economic policy issue where the executive has so much power and escapes the checks and balances that apply elsewhere to executive branch actions. This is a choice made by the U.S. Congress.”

When you return to Canada from abroad whose customs and border patrol do you go through?
Right, Canada.
When you leave Canada, say to the states, whose customs and border patrol do you go through?
Right, US.
We secure our own countries, not our neighbours ffs.
From the Alt Left Brookings Institute. The answer is no, he does not need Congress
President-elect Trump has suggested that he will impose a wide-range of tariffs when he takes office, including a blanket tariff of 10â20% on all imported goods, an additional tariff between 60 and 100% on Chinese goods, a 100% tariff on countries within the BRICS alliance if they attempt to undermine the U.S. dollarâs status as a global reserve currency, and a 25% tariff on all products imported from Mexico and Canada. Notably, he wants to impose at least some of these tariffs on day one. Can he impose tariffs that quickly? Potentially, yes.

Interesting. Don’t know the final shakeout...but I am guessing that Canada and Mexico will finally clean up their borders so much less people will crossover and we will deal with the financial fallout.
Finally some initiative to manage our countries business instead of sleepy Joe and his insane Marxist controllers.
IMHO
That was from a post on X.
And that is why he is the most powerful man in the world. Heâs cleaning up the planet fustercluck, so letâs give it a rest. đ
Notice you did not mention Mexico or Canada’s very permissive immigration polices under Trudeau that served as a convenient work around to allow easy access to the US by illegals
FFS when you don’t have any clue what your talking about have the basic decency to tone done the bombast in your reply
