President Donald Trump has announced plans to open a facility on Guantanamo Bay to house 30,000 illegal migrants.
The U.S. military base in Cuba has historically been used to hold terror suspects since 9/11 and detainees include some of the accused masterminds.
Trump's move is part of his unprecedented crackdown on the border on illegal migration since the moment he entered office last week.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement has conducted raids across the country and deportation flights have left the United States daily.
Trump said the facility with 30,000 beds will be used to keep the 'worst of the worst' migrants under lock and key.
It includes suspects from countries he doesn't trust will detain them when they are deported.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem floated the plan earlier on Wednesday, but Trump has now put the plans into motion.
'Today, I’m also signing an Executive Order to instruct the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security to begin preparing the 30,000 person migrant facility at Guantanamo Bay… to detain the worst criminal illegal aliens threatening the American people,' Trump said while signing the Laken Riley Act at the White House on Wednesday.
'We have 30,000 beds in Guatanamo to detain the worst criminal illegal aliens threatening the American people. Some of them are so bad we don't even trust the countries to hold them because we don't want them coming back,' he continued.
'So we're going to send them out to Guatanamo Bay. This will double our capacity immediately, and tough. That's a tough -- that's a tough place to get out of.'

Send thousands of new IRS agents to watch and care for them.
Self deportation probably looks better and better to them.
nooo. Save the room for senators and government lobbyists!
Why there and not back to where they came from?

Don’t forget Hyperactive ZEEPER posters. ;-)
Is Alcatraz available for these violent criminals? There was a pretty poor rate of escape from there, too.
So if the countries don't detain them..and they come back in ad caught again...no doubt they'll go to Guantanamo Bay! Which ‘might’ dissuade them from coming back in to the US.
Read the article again.
I have a feeling for several reasons.
1 trouble sending them back to the country they came from, they won’t take them.
2. they have been deported several times before and came back. This time they won’t come back.
I think it’s more the latter. In fact I think the country they came from sent them back over and over. Now it’s go home or Club Gitmo.
Sounds great, but the number of illegals deported daily needs to increase to 10,000.
In 4 years this would amount to about 14.5 million, almost enough to cover the amount brought in by Biden.
Before Biden there was already about 20 million illegals in the country.
We need to bump up the number of deportations drastically if we’re ever going to get our country back.
A fishing pole, cow and few seeds should keep them fed.
"Some of them are so bad we don't even trust the countries to hold them because we don't want them coming back," he continued. "So we're going to send them out to Guatanamo Bay."
Their countries won’t accept them (Cuba & Venezuela mentioned). Sudan might also take them ... Sudan being floated around, not official.
When the word gets out that you may not be deported to your home country, a lot more illegals may choose to self-deport.
I was hoping GITMO was getting spruced up for American born traitors. Maybe they can integrate them in with the MS13 boyz.
I wouldn’t trust those new agents. Use our armed forces. AFTER we get rid of the woke and DEI members.
We returned to The States in 1966. I still think of GITMO as home.
“That’s a tough — that’s a tough place to get out of.’”
Maybe they could let them escape to Cuba. I’m sure the worst criminals from the US would be welcome.
