President Donald Trump signed into law the Laken Riley Act, the first legislation to get his signature since his return to the White House. The bill, named in memory of a nursing student killed by an undocumented immigrant in Georgia, would allow the detention of undocumented immigrants accused of theft-related crimes. Wednesday is also a big day on Capitol Hill for Cabinet nominees. Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Trump’s pick for health secretary, is among those facing Senate confirmation hearings. Meanwhile, the White House budget office on Wednesday rescinded an order freezing federal grants, according to a copy of a new memo obtained by The Washington Post, after the administration’s move to halt spending this week provoked a backlash.

Newsmax presenter said that Biden did not mention Laken's name at the SOTU address.
IIRC...he did, but called her "Lincoln Rily".
If you didn’t get blurry eyes during the ceremony, you are a cold fish.
Just watched the Laken Riley Act signing ceremony DVR-delayed. Beautiful and heartbreaking….

Look at all those foreign sounding names who voted no. That tells you the problem this country has. Returning to the 1790 Naturalization Act will purge this country of foreign named lawmakers. The founders at that time wanted a country with White citizens only.
Shut up faker.
I noticed that too.
Hispanics, Blacks, Asians and Muslims.
I was curious enough to copy a photo of every one of them.
I Followed each one of them on Facebook.
On Facebook every time I see one of their names pop up I comment on their No Vote for H.R. 29 and H.R. 30.
Not in line with the heart of the Republic. Very disturbing.
And then apologized to the illegal alien for calling him illegal...
Good for you!
Very touching.
A huge component of this new law provides standing for states to sue the federal government when the federal government fails to enforce existing immigration law.
You can’t pull a Biden/Mayorkas in ignoring or cutting back on law enforcement. You can, but it’ll cost you big time. It may also introduce individual liability upon those responsible for the decision to engage in the lack of enforcement. (untested)
