Report: Canada Mulls Massive ‘Pandemic-Style’ Bailout to Prepare for Trump Tariffs
Breitbart ^ | 01/29/2025 | Frances Martel

The government of radical leftist Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is allegedly planning a “pandemic-style” bailout program to protect industries in the event that President Donald Trump imposes tariffs on the country in February, the Globe and Mail reported on Tuesday.

The Canadian newspaper, citing anonymous sources, claimed that Trudeau’s government, expected to end this year as an election looms and Trudeau announced his exit from politics, is planning for massive expenses and suspending some policies to expedite money to affected industries. Any sort of “bailout” would require the Canadian Parliament’s approval, however, and Trudeau paralyzed the Parliament through at least March 24, making such moves impossible by the February 1 tariff deadline that Trump announced this month.

You’d think the totalitarians would want people to forget their egregious misconduct during the so-called “pandemic”

That is a prescription for massive debt enslavement and hyperinflation. If they do that then in 10 years almost all Canadians will be begging to join the United States.

Do it!

In general, government intervention weakens the economy by supporting weak and inefficient companies and preventing leaner more competitive companies from getting established. This is why Chrysler is dead and GM is a dead company rolling.

Well how stupid is this? How long are they going to fork over “free” money? We can’t even manage the debt we have now. What a bunch of idiots we have up here.

Wow. I wonder what that will make the rate of exchange of the loonie versus the dollar. I’d say they’ll get 3 loonie for 1 dollar.

There aren’t going to be any “Trump tariffs” if Canada gets its illegal immigration under control. In fact, Trump will open up America to Canadian energy again and it will be a boon to Canadian energy producers.

It really depends of the price of crude.
IF crude goes down, so does the Loony.

FYI, so do a lot of other major oil producers(like Russia).

We buy 132 billion dollars in Petroleum products from Canada. More than double of the next largest import(auto-52 billion).

Hmmm... seems to me the better plan would be, pick up the phone and talk to Trump...

Clearly Trump is doing this in order to get Canada to changes is nearly open immigration policies that is affecting the US...

Canadian leadership just looks stupid on this IMHO.

Uranium is probably the most important thing we need but I’m not sure how much we get from Canada.

These jerks literally CLAWED BACK their last “bailout” money from those stupid enough to take the Covid-19 cash.

I wouldn’t accept an ice cream cone from the LIEberals in Canada at this point.

Talk about jumping the gun. I would be interested in finding Trudeau to sit down and discuss the issues with Trump’s team. Someone needs to act like a leader here.
