An aide to Mike Johnson advised the House speaker’s Republican colleagues against subpoenaing former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson as part of their investigation into the Jan. 6, 2021, attack in an effort to prevent the release of sexually explicit texts that lawmakers sent her, according to written correspondence reviewed by The Washington Post and a person familiar with the effort.

Barry Loudermilk (R-Georgia) and members of his staff that issuing a subpoena to Hutchinson and asking her to testify under oath would serve as an opportunity for her to retell her story and potentially embarrass the Trump White House, according to two people present for the meeting.....

Just claim the texts were AI-generated.
Taking a page from the Biden playbook Trump could pardon everyone in the house, senate and supreme court of all federal crimes since they first entered office.
This would serve to drastically limit the ability of blackmailers to exercise power over these people.
It would also mean that they lose 5th amendment rights regarding federal crimes as they cannot face federal consequences... make them all talk. their only recourse at that point would be to attempt to claim they would be liable for crimes in state courts.... this would be interesting.
I know how loathsome it is to let many guilty go unpunished but I believe that no one gets away with anything in the end.. all will face judgement and something needs to end the ability of those who wield power over our governance by blackmailing legislators and justices....
I call it the “Blackmail Bank of America.” The Board of Directors, Officers and especially the account “holders” all need to be exposed, and prosecuted.
This is how they control the Republicans that continually ran to support Biden and torpedo investigations.

Mike Johnson is not going to want that. His colleagues will end up getting embarrassed. They may not get reelected as a result of this.
