TikTok said Sunday that it would be restoring service to U.S. users after blocking it the evening before.
In a statement, TikTok said its services were coming back online after President-elect Donald Trump provided assurances necessary to the company’s service providers.
STATEMENT FROM TIKTOK:
In agreement with our service providers, TikTok is in the process of restoring service. We thank President Trump for providing the necessary clarity and assurance to our service providers that they will face no penalties providing TikTok to over 170 million Americans and allowing over 7 million small businesses to thrive.
It’s a strong stand for the First Amendment and against arbitrary censorship. We will work with President Trump on a long-term solution that keeps TikTok in the United States.

WINNING
May give time for someone like Elon to create a similar site for tik tok users to transfer to.
“TikTok says it is restoring service for U.S. users after Trump comments”
Therapists disappointed.
Or for Elon to buy it.
But, hard core libs will credit MIA branDUHn with it.
Trumps comments

I’m asking companies not to let TikTok stay dark! I will issue an executive order on Monday to extend the period of time before the law’s prohibitions take effect, so that we can make a deal to protect our national security. The order will also confirm that there will be no liability for any company that helped keep TikTok from going dark before my order.
Americans deserve to see our exciting Inauguration on Monday, as well as other events and conversations.
I would like the United States to have a 50% ownership position in a joint venture. By doing this, we save TikTok, keep it in good hands and allow it to say up. Without U.S. approval, there is no Tik Tok. With our approval, it is worth hundreds of billions of dollars - maybe trillions.
Therefore, my initial thought is a joint venture between the current owners and/or new owners whereby the U.S. gets a 50% ownership in a joint venture set up between the U.S. and whichever purchase we so choose.
Isn’t Tik Tok against the law?
However, there is a small possibility of them spinning off an American version of TikTok without the algorithm.
But it'll be crap because it'll be just like Reels.
Most of the ig’nant tik-tockers will not get it - will say it’s back, in spite of Trump and the Repubs.
We need the US TikTok to have same rules as China requires for its TikTok
Censorship? 🤔
Winning!
Somebody will tell PinnochiJoe a couple of months from now that TikTok shut down for a day when he was Front Man.
Pardon my ignorance but if it disappeared tomorrow my life would not change in any way. I would see it in the news and think, oh, so they can’t use it anymore. Oh well, back to Free Republic and Telegram.
Only the government can censor. Did you miss the entire Covid pandemic?
Cautiously optimistic! Good to see free speech has some hope.
This is such crap.
Enjoy your Chinese trojan horse, you morons. The US deserves to fall if this is how we operate now.
I’m done giving a crap. Giving up on politics and focusing on other things.
Now we have our side being as lawless as the democrats. Don’t like a law then just ignore it. The correct way to change this if that is Trumps wish, is to have congress change it.
And this is pure abuse of the use of an executive order as well. What congress? Just wait until the next democrat is president. We are now setting the precedent for them to do what they want.
That’s a fair solution, but it depends on the buyer. Another censorship fan, no way. In that case, an alternative would be better, as long as Zuckerberg isn’t involved.
