Councilor-at-Large Thu Nguyen will step away from their duties as a councilor for a month, citing "transphobia and discriminatory and toxic council culture." In a statement released Wednesday morning, Nguyen made reference to allegations they had been misgendered by Mayor Joseph M. Petty and Councilor-at-Large Kathleen Toomey on the council floor. They also mentioned "recently learning" that they had been called "it" by another councilor, District 2 Councilor Candy Mero-Carlson.
Nguyen said they had filed a complaint with the city's Executive Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion requesting an immediate investigation.
Nguyen became the first nonbinary person elected to office in Massachusetts when they won election to the City Council in 2021.
*** Upon reading Nguyen's statement, Toomey acknowledged Wednesday that there was an instance when she misgendered Nguyen after they were first elected councilor, but added that she had apologized to Nguyen for "the honest mistake." "There's never, ever been any attempt on my side to misgender them," Toomey said. "I'm sorry that that's how they feel.” *** MassEquality, a statewide LGBTQ+ advocacy group based in Worcester, issued a statement***[we are] "deeply troubled" that Nguyen "has been repeatedly subjected to misgendering and racism while serving on the Worcester City Council."
*** Often clad in a keffiyeh headdress, Nguyen has been very outspoken in recent City Council meetings, which have taken a heated turn during discussions of a petition urging the city to call on the U.S. government to facilitate a Gaza ceasefire, and of several petitions referencing the Department of Justice investigation into the Police Department. Nguyen showed support for the ceasefire petition on Jan. 7. They attended the meeting in person and said, "Let us not prioritize potholes and snowplowing over Palestinian lives." The City Council subsequently voted, 6-5, to file the petition, thus scrapping it. ***

When you vote for delusional, this is what you get.
They: A third person plural pronoun used to refer to two or more people or things.
“has been repeatedly subjected to misgendering”
It’s not misgendering. It’s correct gendering.
They need a new gender for potholes so they can get around to filling them.
:-)
So they’re skerred of cross dressers? Isn’t “phobia” an irrational fear? Who “fears” these people? Despite the claims, it’s ‘XX’ or “XY”. When there’s nothing left but smoldering remnants, that’s what it comes down to. No “ X?”.
Confused. If the city voted 6_5 for the petition how is that “scrapping” as it says in last sentence?
Well, stepping back for a month is preferable to having him shoot up the place. Trans can get a bit touchy if you don’t worship at their feet
Shouldn't that be *its* duties?
With every passing day I become more and more proud of being a native of The Gay State (Massachusetts)!

It took me a second. But the “they” there refers to just Nguyen.
Is there an award for using the word “they” in the most confusing manner possible? If so, this article is a contender for sure.
🏆
“They: A third person plural pronoun used to refer to two or more people or things.”
Makes it easier to say “Go F Yourself” without misgendering.
Themself
Let’s all move on from this gender identity crap.
Dismiss them until they mess with kids, then deal with them directly.
Evidently, if you’re trans, you also have to have your “Sensitivity Index” cranked up to full scale, whatever that means. It will be a cold day in Hell before I would apologize for “misgendering” someone. Indeed, such complaints should be resolved with DNA tests.
I think an ex-Navy Seal who trained combat dogs makes a good point. He tells about being in a park with one of his combat dogs. A young lady approached and asked if she could pet the dog. He said: “Sure.” Her trans friend asked if he could pet the dog, and the Seal said: “Other than me, he will not let a male pet him.” The trans guy exploded screaming, going on about how he had misgendered him. The Seal said: “Okay. Then go ahead and pet the dog and let him decide if I misgendered you.”
Beautiful...

I’m guessing Thu Nguyen is one of those Thu-Spirit deviates I have heard about. Well... Whatever... Bye!
How many fingers?OR
Air Traffic Control HR question to applicant:Do they have any questions?

Oh, so you’re one-a them “words have meaning” types, are you?
Me too!
We don’t know that they voted for this.
It is the left that created this gender identity stuff.
We can’t move on from it because they won’t shut up about it.
Here in CT we now have tampons in boys bathrooms in all public high schools thanks to the Democrat state legislature and Democrat governor.
There is no way I am moving on from that.
We have to turn it into a political issue and cram it down their throats.
They started it.
We finish it.
