The Los Angeles fires death toll has skyrocketed to 24 amid warnings hellish weather conditions will spur on the raging infernos for at least three more days.
Meteorologists warned residents in fire-ravaged evacuation zones that winds reaching 70mph will pick up on Sunday night and last to Wednesday, heightening the risk for fires to spread even further across southern California.
The weather warning also prevents locals from returning home to inspect the damage, and makes it more challenging for first responders sifting through the ash and debris searching for dozens of people who remain unaccounted for.

Four fires burned through 40,000 acres across the most affluent neighborhoods in LA, with A-list celebrity homes and restaurant hotspots among the 12,300 structures wiped out.
The Los Angeles medical examiner updated the death count on Sunday afternoon, revealing 24 people are now confirmed dead as a result of the fires.
But dozens more are unaccounted for as evacuees locked out of their suburbs face an anxious wait to return home and see what - if anything - remains.
With cadaver dogs now being brought in to locate human remains, Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna has warned the death toll will likely continue to rise.

Hollywood bracing for hellโ might as well get them used to it.
Condolences to families and friends who have lost loved ones. Many would toss aside everything they have to see a loved one again.
It’s not just Hollywood. Altadena is a community with non-celebrities and working people and it was devastated by these fires.
The winds and the inferno do not discriminate.
Read somewhere that it'll get to 100mph. Dang.
It could jump the 405 (major interstate) and go into Bel Air.
I’ve seen West Hollywood mention. Just past that is Beverly Hills.
And this is day after day after day. Sun. Some rain possibly Thursday or Friday.
It’s a mess.
I keep seeing news stories about high winds, and I’ve heard Newsome and others saying high wind of 99 and 100 mph.
I cannot find any record that says there have been high winds or will be high winds. Everything shows wind gusts from 5 to 25 mph this month. None of the data shows 70, 99 or 100 mph
I can find that wind in the area have been in the 4 to 8 mph range with gusts between 10 and 18 mph. The forecast for the rest of the week also shows moderate to low winds. The article says 70 mph winds by Sunday, but this site forecast gusts between 2 and 5 mph next Sunday. https://www.windfinder.com/forecast/malibu_vista-del-preseas
Does anyone have data showing high winds, or are the politicians and reporters lying again?
This is horrible
I was seeing 70 mph.
I’m sure there’ll be working all night in the air as they’ll be grounded when the ‘red flag’ conditions hit.
Odd question but...
Did MEET THE PRESS use a ‘green screen’ to do this interview?
Something seems... fake about it.

Zoomable US wins map:
There used to be a map that would show winds at different altitudes, which was a heck of a lot better, but they took it down.
The app WATCH DUTY has been great. For your phone.
Is The Reagan Library in danger? Hope they get the artifacts out.
Newscum and bass need to be charged with gross negligent homicide this was intentional their blood is on their hands
The Reagan Library seems to have been spared from a multitude of fires...they have really strong management of their surrounding brush and land.
You probably got the weather for greater Los Angeles not over between these mountains and valleys. Maybe?
Nope. That site shows different locations of weather stations and such. I looked at LAX too, which had 40 mph gusts a few days ago. The one I posted (and the forecast I mentioned) is from a station in Malibu, the closest they have to Pacific Palisades.
Prayers up for the people out there
This is beyond horrific - it’s nearly apocalyptic and in many ways IS apocalyptic
I cannot imagine
I’m very sorry to hear about those who have lost their lives and their loved ones who have lost them

The Reagan Library is in Simi Valley, quite a distance from
Pacific Palisades, where Ron and Nancy once owned a home.
I hope to God there aren’t any new blazes in other areas.
