Rep. Dusty Johnson unveiled legislation that would authorize the repurchase of the Panama Canal, giving congressional teeth to President-elect Donald Trump’s wish to take back the strategic waterway.
The Panama Canal Repurchase Act of 2025 would give Mr. Trump, in coordination with the secretary of state, the authority to enter into negotiations with the Panamanian government to buy the canal.

China has bribed its way to power and Trump is immune to their bs. He’s found the chink in the armor. Either way it’s all gobeldygook.
He gets how things need to be done.
Trump speaks. Congress acts.
If Panama breached the contract, they forfeit the canal. No payment unless the agreement has a provision for payment.
Take it back.
PERIOD.

Probably cheaper and more effective to put the damn Unions back in their proper place.
Then build a new fully modern mostly automated port on the East side of the isthmus and express freight lines heading West.

Oh what the hell. Give them 20. I’m in a good mood. But that needs to cover any repair work that needs be done first.
In of itself the potential purchase of the Panama Canal would make perfect sense, however since we have a GOPe/dem/uniparty running things until proven otherwise you know there will be a $1,000,000,000,000 (trillion) tax dollars spent on it every year or two. Trust the feds with tax dollars monies at your own peril.

It’s our canal. We don’t need to buy it back. Anybody feeling froggy can get a free ass kicking if they like. They can take up their complaints with Jimmah Cahtah.
I’d say just triple their investment at $3.00.
