Heartbroken Hollywood actor whose house burnt down in the Palisades fire compares devastation to 'losing a loved one' and reveals he has no insurance policy for charred property
Hollywood stalwart James Woods has taken to social media to lament the destruction of his home in Pacific Palisades as brutal wildfires tear through much of Los Angeles and Southern California.
Academy award-winning Woods, 77, shared a clip of the view from his home overlooking an ocean sunset, writing: 'I took this last night from our beautiful little home in the Palisades. Now all the fire alarms are going off at once.
'It tests your soul, losing everything at once, I must say,' he quipped. 'I couldn't believe our lovely little home in the hills held on this long. It feels like losing a loved one.'

No insurance? Why not?
Sympathy for the loss.....but...no insurance?
On X, Woods said that a “major insurance company” cancelled the policies months ago and I assume no other companies were willing to write policies for homes in a city with no sensible wildfire control policies.
Same thing is happening in states like Florida — homeowner’s companies are not wanting to insure ‘high risk’ areas. Guess they made the right financial call given the billions in losses in CA this week.
‘Three football fields a minute’: Wildfire tears through affluent suburbs of north Los Angeles
An out of control wildfire burning three football fields of land a minute is currently tearing through the north coast of Los Angeles.
Move to a properly run state with working fire hydrants.

🚨 NOW: Major parts of Los Angeles are looking apocalyptic as fires spread rapidly throughout the area
0% contained, and winds are set to pick up through the night
New fires are being sparked as well. This is going to be catastrophic.

Joe Rogan said a firefighter told him a few years ago that one day a wildfire would take out the entire city of Los Angeles and there was nothing they could do to stop it.
Joe Biden, btw, is ‘grounded’ there because of the wildfires.
Hope we don’t lose Air Force One to fire.
Older folks in CA voted for Reagan as Governor... Nixon won the state.
Libs slowly have taken over though politically but many - like James Woods - were still there who didn’t vote for the idiots in charge. Same with NY and other cities.
Why wouldn’t you have insurance? That is just stupid.

This is near Brentwood. Flames moving in. I’ve never seen fire behavior like this. It’s a wind-driven ember storm with sparks carried more than a mile away. If you are in a threatened area, be safe and just evacuate. The last minute panic is mentally scarring.

Brentwood, Santa Monica, Malibu - all are next within the path of devastation.

This is Bowdoin St in Pacific Palisades. Every home is on fire. Crews aren’t trying to save them. They’re trying to put out flames before they ignite other neighborhoods.

“Move to a properly run state with working fire hydrants.” ... and casualty insurance companies willing to do business there
Probably because of the past fires making certain parts of California uninsurable against fire.
Air Force One would be a loss.
“Why wouldn’t you have insurance?”
uh, because there are no insurance companies remaining in the communist state of california willing to sell you any?
You can’t have insurance when no insurance company will underwrite the risk.
Traffic wasn’t moving and firefighters told them to abandon the cars.
Then a bulldozer cleared the road for emergency vehicles.

The Palisades Fire moved in so quickly, evacuees panicked. Every car represents someone or a family that, in fear, abandoned their cars, and fled on foot. The wind could reach 100 mph tonight.

Democrat Gavin Newson has done a horrible job as governor of California
