Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg's announcement earlier Tuesday that Meta platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram, were abandoning the East German style censorship by "fact checking" in favor of other methods caught just about everyone by surprise; see WHOA: Meta Ends Fact-Checking As Zuckerberg Vows to Restore Free Expression on Facebook – RedState. The most surprised were the people currently grifting off, sorry, I mean employed by Meta as fact checkers. According to reports, Meta's contract fact checkers only learned they were out of work when the rest of us did.
Meta’s fact-checking partners claim they were “blindsided” by the company’s decision to abandon third-party fact-checking on Facebook, Instagram, and Threads in favor of a Community Notes model, and some say they are now scrambling to figure out if they can survive the hole this leaves in their funding.
“We heard the news just like everyone else,” says Alan Duke, cofounder and editor in chief of fact-checking site Lead Stories, which started working with Meta in 2019. “No advance notice.”
The news that Meta was no longer planning on using their services was announced in a blog post by chief global affairs officer Joel Kaplan on Tuesday morning and an accompanying video from Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Instead, the company plans to rely on X-style Community Notes, which allow users to flag content that they think is inaccurate or requires further explanation.
In addition to the pain of betrayal, an atmosphere of doom permeated that world occupied by lackwits and midwits who fancied themselves the global arbiters of what was "fact."

Have repeatedly challenged folks who scream disinformation, who fact checks the “fact checkers”
“News media’s” go to is to claim information that they don’t like as disinformation. As of that is enough to make their claims true

Heard some detail on a podcast a couple days ago that the Zuckbuck “fact-checkers” were admittedly a third-party company that did this and got fired from Fakebook/Instagram as they became too biased and lost subscribers and their ‘friend networks’ as a result. $$$
This would explain Zuckbuck’s behavior the last few months. On a side note (unrelated) TikTok was mentioned by Charlie Kirk of all people that decided to take advantage of TikTok and collectively got over a BILLION hits in the election season, this was more than any other platform.

The “fact checking” industry provides employment and power to leftists who would otherwise have to engage in productive employment. Just like the race-hustlers in the DEI industry. Just like the abortion industry. And the climate change grifters.
All need to be destroyed as organized, wealthy communities. You do that by canceling contracts and defunding. That breaks up the institutions and their/his/her/they/them/zir power goes away as they fragment.
So a good little step by Meta if it is actually true.

I hear some of them “fact checkers” are saying this is “Mostly False” - in hopes of convincing Zuck he didn’t decide on this action🥸
