Cardinal McElroy, appointed by Pope Francis, vows to serve as President Trump's hall monitor

Now that Pope Francis has named his wokester ally, Cardinal Robert McElroy, to be chief of the Washington, D.C. archdiocese, it's pretty obvious the appointment isn't about shepherding the 667,000 Catholics of that area.

Right out the gate, McElroy made clear his appointment's real purpose: To harass President Trump from his bully pulpit.

According to Catholic News Agency:

Cardinal Robert McElroy, the new archbishop of Washington, D.C., says he wishes success for President-elect Donald Trump’s incoming administration but that he’ll be watching closely to see how Trump deals with immigrants who are in the country without legal status.

“The Catholic Church teaches that a country has the right to control its borders. And our nation’s desire to do that is a legitimate effort,” McElroy said Monday, shortly after being introduced as Washington’s eighth archbishop during an online press conference at the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle amid an unusually heavy snowstorm in the nation’s capital.

“At the same time, we are called always to have a sense of the dignity of every human person. And thus, plans which have been talked about at some levels of having a wider indiscriminate massive deportation across the country would be something that would be incompatible with Catholic doctrine. So we’ll have to see what emerges in the administration.”

That 'wishes success ... but' is precious.

He doesn't wish Trump success.

He's actually appointed himself hall monitor, his job to follow Trump around and see if Trump, a non-Catholic, adheres to Catholic doctrine as the cardinal and all his wokester friends interpret it. Given that that's conveniently leftist and supported by all leftist Democrats, let's just say he'll be judging whether Trump is sufficiently Democrat for him, while wrapping all of his pronouncements in a religious veneer.

What the heck?

Maybe the Cardinal should pray and stick to sermons about the theology of his church? Hall monitor for a president? What the heck?

The Church loses its status as a bulwark of civilization — when it turns against civilization.

Maybe the Cardinal should follow God and not the Pope.

Seems like a perfect opportunity for Trump to start asking questions about human smuggling and Catholic NGOs.

The Catholic welfare agencies for years have been getting paid big time out of US taxpayers dollars to assist the illegals in staying in the US once they have broken the law, courtesy of the Democrats in DC. The Vatican and the Catholic Church don’t want to lose their Cash Cow. So they are prepared to fight any and all deportations by hook or by crook.

Hey McElroy mind your own GD business. If you’re so concerned about illegals, house them in your palatial apartment or better yet spend some money and send them to the walled city of the Vatican.

Cardinal Robert McElroy...says.. he'll be watching closely to see how Trump deals with immigrants who are in the country without legal status.

I'd say that fits into the category of so what and who the he!! cares?

As one who probably shouldn't give advice in spiritual matters, I'd say His "Eminence" ought to be concentrating on watching his soul...closely.

Maybe its time to look at Catholic Charities, who have been aiding and harboring illegals, against the nation’s laws.

So the Catholic Church was ok with a genocidal abortion supporter as president but now decides it needs to protect murderers and rapists and harass the a president who wants to protect innocent lives from said murderers and rapists.

Where exactly in scripture or inspired teachings of the clergy does this align with God’s will on earth? Last I checked the Lord made it clear to follow the laws of the land when they do not directly contradict His Laws.

I think it’s going to have the opposite effect. Trump will reign him in, and, in the process, help make Catholics great again. Trump will point out his excesses and failings if this Cardinal decides to take Trump on in the political arena.

Also, I have a proposal. Let Trump appoint some Bishops and Cardinals. Why not? The Vatican let the Communist Chinese do it? Why not let Trump?!

And the Roman Catholic Church joins the ELCA and the others as a political cult rather than a Christian Church.

I can’t stomach the institution of the Church I grew up in and attended faithfully into my late thirties.

Between the enabling and coverups of f***ot pedophiles, the current globalist/commie pope (can’t bring myself to capitalize the title for Jorge the fraud), and helping to undermine our national sovereignty with these disgusting pseudo charities and NGO’s, I can’t take it anymore.

I am still a believer but the institution as it currently stands is repellent to me.
