North Carolina General Assembly elections were finalized Monday as officials issued certificates to the winners in three close legislative races from November that later became subject to recounts and formal protests.
This ministerial action by election administrators also confirms that Republicans have lost their veto-proof control of the legislature — the result of outgoing state Rep. Frank Sossamon losing to Democrat Bryan Cohn by 228 votes.

If this doesn't scream corruption then nothing does.
The hurricane and aftermath did not help. FEMA shennanigans.
Blame the wannabe governor.
And did any of those three ultimately go to the republican candidate? Or was it a 3-0 democrat "win"?
It would be interesting to see a plot of how many races were finally decided for D vs. R against how many days past election day it took for the race to be finally decided.
If, perchance, the % decided for Ds went up, say, well past 50%, or maybe better well past the %D decided in earlier-to-count races, as the decision was more and more delayed, then some sort of explanation has to be advanced to explain this outcome.
Here’s one possible explanation: the Ds are cheating and manufacture votes after the deadline, and they keep “counting” until enough have been inserted to obtain the desired outcome of a D victory. Only then do they declare the vote count finished.
This could maybe be stopped by requiring all precincts to report a final ballots received count on election night, with that number to not change except under rare and highly transparent processes.
They always keep counting until the Dems win. Never fails, and people do nothing about it.
Yup...I still can’t figure out how it takes this long to count votes. I can see it one day after the election, but not two months...ridiculous.
Robinson did nothing wrong. There are just too many racial bigots in NC.
“The Countin’ Party” continues to count...
The FEMA shenanigans should’ve been a clue to the voters that Democrats aren’t their friends.
What other explanation is there for elections that take months to decide, and always in favor of Democrats?
The State GOP is doing a terrible job. Their 2024 strategy was to do nothing and ride Trump’s coattails. Thom Tillis and friends kneecapped Robinson because they perceived him as a threat
Another steal bank it
If it’s a long count the Dem always wins.
I’m hoping Lara will take that rino Traitor Tillis out.
When it takes two months to count the votes, something is seriously wrong.
We hold every office except AG, LT Governor, and Governor. Next year, when another campaign season starts, I want to see the RNC more involved in flipping the AG race to a Conservative. Stein is a lame-duck Governor, and he was just elected. He must have GOP buy-in on anything he does. With a conservative court, he will have a hard time using any executive actions to by-pass the legislature.
Also, the last legislature saw a loss of the supermajority and the AG so they quickly passed two bills that neutered both the AG and Governor. By law, the AG must defend the legislature against federal lawsuits, and the Governor no longer controls the board of elections. We already have voter ID and expect new mail-in ballot controls.
The Republican Party Establishment in this state torpedoed him. They released info to the Democrats that he may have said naughty things on the internet.
Big deal. I voted for him anyway but we have enough shrinking violets who were scared away to throw the race to Stein - who is awful.

sounds like a local school budget vote, they keep doing it, changing voting hours and days until they get what they want
**Robinson did nothing wrong. There are just too many racial bigots in NC.**
Enough of them are republicans who should have carried him over the finish line.
