South Korean authorities moved on Friday to arrest impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol, Yonhap News reported, as protesters clashed with police outside his residence. Yoon faces a criminal investigation over a Dec. 3 martial law attempt, with an arrest marking an unprecedented move against a sitting president.
The Corruption Investigation Office, leading a joint team of police and prosecutors, began executing the warrant amid reports of resistance from Yoon’s Presidential Security Service. Around 2,800 police were deployed, while 100 protesters gathered early Friday to block the arrest attempt.
What did he do that warrants such an egregious move?
And Yoon gave them the moon and ran away.
What was corrupt about an action that the Congress had to approve, and chose not to?
He tried to do it even after they said no.
This is what needs to happen to most of those in D.C.
They’ve driven the country into a deep ditch...Disaster in every direction...They need to be held accountable.
Why was he trying to declare martial law?
He sent in the military to prevent parliament from voting against it.
One of the charges against President Yoon is insurrection.
The opposition control of the National Assembly was giving him a tough time. He wanted to break the deadlock but pushed a nuclear button IMHO.

Makes sense. My understanding is that the South Korean Parliament was unwilling to send any more of their defensive weapons to Ukraine and thus give up the security of their country (South Korea), just to give Zelensky a few more weeks before Trump took power. So, Yoon was told to be like a US Neocon and do it anyway (as in martial law), but instead was impeached.
I just went and read about it. Corruption was / is running deep on both sides in SK. I guess I never knew or tracked the issues over there.
It’s a bit of a mess one can hope for the best I gotta believe Kim Jong-Un is sitting somewhere downing the popcorn right now.
