As detectives continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the explosion of a Tesla Cybertruck outside the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas, ABC News has received word the man behind the wheel may have come from Colorado Springs.

The driver was killed in the blast, while seven others sustained minor injuries. Now, detectives are urgently working to determine who was behind the wheel and what their motive could have been.

ABC News has confirmed that the person who rented the truck arrived in Vegas this morning after setting out from Colorado Springs on Dec. 30.

The cybertruck was rented from the car rental company Turo, according to a law enforcement official briefed on the investigation. According to ABC News, the same company was used to rent the pickup truck used in a deadly New Orleans attack the same day.

“Investigators have found, in addition to fireworks-style mortars, at least one gas tank and fuel in the truck, reinforcing the possibility that the explosion was intentional.”

Real Sherlock Holmes they are.

Well, the smart move would be to grab all the rental records for that day, and check in on all the customers. Might lead to nothing, might hit the jackpot.

What are the odds?

Two Turo truck rentals used for same day terrorist attacks.

I’d never even heard of Turo, until today.

The FBI has determined the gas cans were just in case his battery lost charge on way from Colorado…

The 5 gallon cans were VP Racing high octane gasoline cans in the 110 octane range, and there were also 1 gallon “white” gasoline cans, suitable for fueling backpacker stoves and campsite stoves.

Per AI, a founder of Turo was Nabeel Al-Kady. CEO is named Haddad. Balancing that, the same AI report showed board members named Hartensteinbaum, Levin, and Stein.(Is Hartensteinbaum a real name, or something AI cooked up?)

I guess Turo is sort of like the “burner phone” of vehicle rentals.
