Slovak Prime Minister Fico said Ukraine would pay for the "Western adventure" with its territory and foreign troops.

BRATISLAVA, December 28 (Sputnik) - Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said Ukraine will pay for the "Western adventure" with its territory and the presence of foreign troops.

"I do not understand that the Ukrainian political leadership is dragging the entire country into disaster, because Ukraine's negotiating position is getting worse every day. Ukraine will pay a huge price for this Western adventure in the form of loss of territory and the presence of foreign troops," Fico said in a video message published on social media on Friday.

Fico previously said Ukraine could lose a third of its territory as a result of the conflict with Russia. He said Kiev will not receive an invitation to NATO either.

Fico is not a US "Deep State" lackey. Which is why they tried to "off" him.

They put 5 BULLETS into him, and he survived. There’s a reason why.

“Ukraine Will Pay for ‘Western Adventure’ With Territory, Foreign Troops Presence”

The US has already paid with $300B of new debt and at least a decade’s worth of ground weapons (assuming that China will even sell us the needed components to resume production). It’s INCREDIBLE to think that people believe (or at least are paid to believe) that this is somehow good for the United States.

This is going to be all over with soon. And yes, the Russians will likely keep the parts of Ukraine which had large numbers of Russian speakers living there to begin with. 1.3 million or more Ukrainians will likely be moving back to rebuild their homes in what used to be Ukraine from Russia where they took refuge.

They’ll tell us that it stimulates the economy via having production of weapons get restarted.
Where the money and materials for that production comes from.. nobody knows.
We’ve paid more than twice, once in cash and again in the physical materials being sent, again in the actual costs of shipping the materials, the costs of storing the materials
during transport, and not to mention the taxes on all of the above.

It’s tough to predict how this ends. Obviously, like Serbia, Ukraine will lose the land that is not composed of people who identify as Ukrainians (we set that precedent in 1999, so it makes sense for Russia to abide by it). At this point the territories are Crimea and 4 Oblasts, but if the Neocons are somehow able to drag the war on longer, then Odessa will be gone, along with Kharkiv, and other regions.

The harder part is the OTHER FACTORS needed to achieve a long-lasting peace, including driving out the Nazis from the Ukrainian government and some form of an iron-clad agreement that Ukraine will NOT enter NATO. These factors could be quite difficult to achieve as the Russians, rightfully, do not trust ANY promises from the Neocons.

Having foreign troops there would be nothing special, President Trump had American troops in Ukraine training the Ukrainians, Biden pulled them out before the invasion.

Kharkiv was not even majority ethnic Russian when the former USSR did its last Census. Look that Census up if you don’t believe me.

A second factor is that the number of Ukrainians who are seething with hatred of Russians has gone from a few thousand to at least a few million. Guerilla warfare is pretty cheap for the guerillas and their supporters, and can be expected for a long time.

At this point though, would Putin accept US troops in Ukraine? I don’t see how.

Also, would US troops fight Ukrainian partisans? How long until casualties would force a US President to bring them home?

I have no idea if after a real peace agreement, who would have troops there if that was called for, it wouldn’t be a lot and could be from any countries, from anywhere, and of any combination, but Putin doesn’t run the world, he doesn’t run America, and he doesn’t run Europe.

Just which foreign troops does Fico think would be acceptable to both sides, and who would pay for the very sizable and capable force needed?

Give me your State Department link and I will. I’m just a person who posts on FR and I simply don’t have the kind of access that you guys have.

CONTEXT:

BREAKING: According to the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, the State Department spent $4,840,082 on influencers to promote pro-Ukraine, anti-Russian talking points on social media.

“Russian speakers living there”
Interesting point.
The “Soviets” which really meant ethnic Russians and then everyone else spent decades trying to Russify countries like Ukraine. Banning the teaching(speaking) of native languages, deporting indigenous peoples and replacing them with Russians……and then declaring the lands Russian.

Cool trick😎

Russia has lost the capability to make any rapid advances and victories. There is no sweeping WW2 Kursk like victory in their future.”Great victories “ are now the taking of a village or a crossroad. Parts of Kursk are still held months later and the NKs have been called in to help with more meat.
Slow slogging gains with massive losses for each meter gained.
Side note a joke I saw awhile ago “wife left me because she said I wasn’t American enough, should have seen that coming a kilometer away”

Back to topic
The original narrative was that Russia would push over Ukraine, and when it slogged on the narrative became Russia is self sufficient with enough manpower, equipment, ammunition, and industrial capacity to win the long war.

Russia is now dependent on China, Iran, and NK for ammunition, equipment, and to an extent manpower, quite the change.

Would be curious to know how much of this the average Russian knows

The “Soviets” which really meant ethnic Russians and then everyone else spent decades trying to Russify countries like Ukraine.

You must be a genuine history expert... except that Kievan Rus speakers were the majority in this area since before the 9th century. Both the Russian and Ukrainian languages evolved from Kievan Rus. One other minor point... there had never been a country called Ukraine before August 24, 1991. Most of the area had been part of the Russian Empire since 1793. But Lithuania, Hungary and Poland also occupied much of the region for centuries. Your rudimentary understanding has some validity in the scale of centuries not decades.

Since 1991 the area was fought over more with skullduggery than actual warfare. Russian leaning leaders were in charge until Western Intelligence agencies and mafia like Oligarchs such as George Soros overthrew the government of Viktor Yanukovych in 2014. Pretending that any of this occurred through any form of Democratic process requires extreme naivety. The elections that occurred both before 2014 and since have all been shams. It is a shame, but this area is in Russia's back yard and all the death, destruction, and mayhem that has occurred have not been from people seeking freedom and independence. The conflict has been a proxy war between Western and Russian leadership.

Yanukovych was a Russian puppet, and Zelenskyy is a Western puppet. Neither has more legitimacy from a Democratic standpoint than the other. This area has no real strategic value to the United States. The $Hundreds of Billions of taxpayer dollars spent on this conflict have been spent in the interest of weakening Russia and hopefully overthrowing the Putin regime. This has completely backfired and has actually strengthened Putin and his allies and weakened the influence of the West.

The way that the conflict has been framed by Western propaganda is no more accurate than what we expect from our enemies. This entire fiasco has been an unparalleled disaster from every vantage point. Fortunately, President Trump seems to be more knowledgeable about this conflict than the small starry-eyed cabal of people here who have revealed themselves to be easily influenced neo-cons who are still longing for WWIII. Unfortunately for them and the rest of us, this country and our allies are no longer capable of prevailing in such a conflict. We have spent too many decades sitting on our thumbs while progressives and socialists managed to destroy our culture and our future.

Thank goodness we have a small glimmer of hope from this last election.
