In this startling true crime case, a Kentucky sheriff allegedly guns down a longtime judge inside his courthouse chambers, igniting a firestorm of questions. Newly surfaced evidence points to a lurid web of extortion, coerced sex-for-freedom arrangements, and corruption involving the judge, deputies, and home incarceration programs. The sheriff’s sudden act followed the chilling discovery of his teenage daughter’s number in the judge’s phone, raising alarming questions about motive and the murky depths of these alleged sex-for-favors schemes. Watch for a full breakdown of the shocking incident, the “extreme emotional disturbance” defense, and the explosive allegations rocking this Appalachian community.
A sheriff's deputy was sentenced to prison for sex for freedom, which was done in that judge's chambers. Both the judge and sheriff may be implicated in that scandal. Of course similar things go on a lot of places. Not clear if that scandal is related to the murder.
I don’t see the jury finding him guilty once the defense shows up with the judge’s texts.

“ don’t see the jury finding him guilty once the defense shows up with the judge’s texts.”

As well as any comment(s) the judge may have entered along with the teenage daughter’s phone number.
Yeah, the guys not going to shoot the judge for his daughter’s number, he’s going to shoot him once he sees the texts and then he gets off.
Yeah, once he saw the phone number was on the judge’s phone, he may have looked at the texts and became enraged. Sheriff is pleading temporary insanity, which under Kentucky law or case law can reduce it to manslaughter. That is a good point that a jury might straight out acquit him.
I tend to agree.
Cut and dried crime of passion.
....abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul.
...one guy dead, the murderer in a fight for his freedom...probably in jail for the rest of his life.....
It was fun while it lasted...right?
How about giving the sheriff a medal for eliminating a problem unless he was part of the cover up and got pissed about his daughter’s phone number.
A judge in Letcher County...
The “He just needed killin’” defense.
Dig the POS up and shoot him again.
If I’m on the jury he walks.
Bernie Goetz made the subways safer. It’s the job of the legal system and the left wants to disarm us.
He committed a crime.
The penalty—one dollar fine and maybe a few hundred hours of community service.
I was a kid in NY when Goetz shot those thugs.
Everyone wanted him to drill a few dozen more.
So - he wasn’t murdered, he suffered some well-deserved justice for abusing his position - need to happen to more of the corrupt ones...maybe others will opt to follow the straight and narrow - like they tell those who they meet in their courtrooms....
Of course similar things go on a lot of places.
Indeed after all the court dealings Trump has gone through the last 4 years I have little faith in judges.
More and more are showing they love playing Monte Hall let’s make a deal.
I’m assuming it was known in the courthouse community that the judge had such a reputation. It doesn’t take long to put 2+2 together and see that charges against young women were inexplicably being dropped or reduced.
