Finally, Republicans and conservatives have gotten smart about social media. For years conservative groups whined about social media companies like Facebook discriminating against conservative voices – and they did and in some cases still do.
But the Trump campaign got smart and employed social media highly effectively – and much more so than the Democrats.
That decision proved crucial to his victory.
He passed on a second debate with Kamala Harris. He passed on high-profile interviews with 60 Minutes, NBC, and CNN.
Instead, Trump appeared on countless new media platforms, sitting down with Joe Rogan and other podcasters. Some 30 million Americans watched the Joe Rogan interview- most importantly YOUNG voters – a demographic that Trump did surprisingly well with.
A Navigator Research survey found that while both parties’ base voters were more likely to get their news from TV than social media and podcasts, the reverse was true for swing voters.
Van Jones, a former Obama Administration official and CNN contributor, agrees:
“The mainstream has become fringe and the fringe has become mainstream,” told CNN. “There are people out there that are getting 14 million streams, and we’re on cable news getting one or two million.”

Trump’s presence on TikTok was probably the determining factor in this election. He was able to reach a younger market of voters with it that made a HUGE difference.
And yep, Efferberg lobbied for this bill to be passed.

After Tucker left Fox I mostly watch YouTube content creators.
It’s not that Republicans have gotten smarter and ‘used’ Social Media. It’s that Elon removed so much of the censorship capabilities that the truth got past the gate keepers.
So, obvious... only Democrats watch legacy media. Republicans and swing voters do not

We are letting them play us like a fiddle and manipulate our ignorance, emotions, and hate. Just like they did after 911 to take away all of our privacy. The only thing they did not grab was the internet, now they are going after the internet to gain full power over the people and freedom of speech.
The establishment GOP is right in bed with the communists and want that very same government control over the people. If we give an inch they will take a mile. When has government NEVER done that very thing EVERY TIME they got the chance? Have we not learned one thing from it yet? The blindness to reality is incredible, and we just keep letting them play us over and over and over... Their “reasoning” is never what their true intentions or end game goal is ever about.
Elon Musk played a vital role in Trumps election by eliminating censorship from Twitter/X. Hopefully, more of the high tech moguls will get involved in circumventing the mainstream media and curtailing media bias. Jeff Bezos finally made a start in pushing the Washington Post a little bit toward the center, but much remains to be done.
