The final nail in Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s political coffin may have been delivered on Monday morning. The person holding the metaphorical hammer? Chrystia Freeland, who had been one of the most respected and trusted ministers in the Liberal government.
Freeland has been a loyal foot soldier and political confidant for Trudeau for nine years. She’s held several senior cabinet positions, serving most recently as deputy prime minister and the country’s first female finance minister. Her influence over communications, economic strategy and policy-making has been so emphatic that she was dubbed the “minister of everything”.
As it turned out, being involved in everything meant nothing to this PM.
“On Friday, you told me you no longer want me to serve as your finance minister and offered me another position in the Cabinet,” Freeland wrote in a resignation letter released this morning. “Upon reflection, I have concluded that the only honest and viable path is for me to resign from the Cabinet. To be effective, a minister must speak on behalf of the Prime Minister and with his full confidence. In making your decision, you made clear that I no longer credibly enjoy that confidence and possess the authority that comes with it.”
This passage is pretty stunning. It’s even more so when combined with what she wrote further down.
“For the past number of weeks, you and I have found ourselves at odds about the best path forward for Canada,” she continued. This related to US president-elect Donald Trump’s impending 25 per cent tariffs on all Canadian goods. She believed that Canada should be “pushing back against ‘America First’ economic nationalism”. It would also mean working with provinces and territories to build a “true Team Canada response”.

President Melei in Argentina is a good example. He has the first budget surplus in over a century and the economy is expanding.
Maybe Canada is next?
Don’t mess with truckers or hotel owners. Trudy gets everything that’s coming. Bigly and hard, too.
You could almost see that Biden’s minions and Trudeau were trying to present a united front.
Once Biden collapsed, Trudeau was going to be next.
Perhaps this will finally break free NH from the French Canadian grip they have been in since 2002
That’d be cool.
Although I don’t think it means there will be an election that Polliviere (sp?) can run in.
Trudeau’s party would pick another PM.
Maybe this woman even.
There is no copyright or patent on our Constitution and Bill of Rights.
The more countries use the principles therein, the greater THOSE countries become and the less the incentive to jump our borders.
Observe closely. My wife and I call it “Trumpean course changes”. Lots of little things along with the big stuff. I’ve even seen suits and ties in the workplaces.
There was Bolsonaro in Brazil and they did the same thing to him they did to Trump. Steal the election and charge him with crimes.
Maybe he can come back.
The French government has collapsed, the German government has collapsed, and the Canadian government is about to collapse. Great Britain is looking shakier all the time and these countries make fun of us.

Note the recent political events in Germany and France. The worm is turning.
We have friends on the Maine/New Brunswick border that live “over home” as they call it there. They outright hate and dispise Turdeau with a passion. There’s many “over home” that do as well. I guess if you can’t be well-liked, be well-hated instead.
As an aside imagine the money that’s going to pour into a revitalized America from abroad.
That statement sounds like a platform to run for PM.
“I’ve even seen suits and ties in the workplaces.”

Dress for Success returns!
CUBA will give him refuge.
“Bigly and hard” He likes it that way
I see what you did there. ;)
I understand that Italy is also in the movement.
