White House National Security Communications Adviser John Kirby stated that shooting down one of the mysterious drones over the ocean can’t be done because “we have to develop the policy options based on what we know we’re dealing with here and we just don’t know enough” to do something like that.
Host Martha MacCallum asked, “Why not just take one down and figure out what’s going on?”
Kirby responded, “Well, okay, the idea of taking something down, again, you’ve got — you want to worry about public safety. First of all, we don’t have enough conclusions to take that kind of a policy action. But let’s just assume for a minute, Martha, that we did. You’re not going to want to shoot something down where it could hit somebody’s house or hurt somebody.”
MacCallum then cut in to ask, “Well, the Coast Guard says that there are 30 of them following one of their ships in the ocean. So, would that work?”
Kirby answered, “Again, we have to develop the policy options based on what we know we’re dealing with here and we just don’t know enough to make those kinds of — to take those kinds of actions.

Kirby is a pathological liar.
I doubt if they’ve even tried to take one down.
He knows that he does’t know. We are making progress.
This reminds me of the excuses the NYC Department of Public Works gave for why they couldn't fix the Wollman Skating Rink.
The whole works are liars.
So what else is new.
Question is..why? What are they doing?
Interwebz rumor is they’re U.S. gov’t drones sniffing for a nuke which was smuggled into the country.
Dangerous month ahead and just hope Trump can get into office.
Shoot one down over land so you can maybe find out where it came from and what it is....
Maybe a few rocket launches and blown up buildings will convince him.
I’m guessing this is a classified SAP (Special Access Program) which is being run by one of the intel agencies and which cannot be publicly acknowledged.
“we have to develop the policy options”
The first policy option to pick is to fire anyone who says “we have to develop the policy options”.
Lol.
That is probably part of it—but remember some of these sightings are in England and other non US areas.
Since most of these reported “mystery drones” are actually planes it would be a bad idea to shoot at them especially if they were low during take off and landing.
The electric motors that power these things are made of feris metal, therefore, they have a “signature” on radar. They can be shot down at sea, in fact, it should have already happened.
Then shoot it down and find out.
They’re lying anyways.
Hard to believe he was a rear admiral, but then of course the last few administrations, sans DJT, either promoted idiots, butt kissers, weirdos, woketards, etc. to the highest levels. So....that explains his and many others of his ilk, of their rise to infamy.
Anything flying without following FAA protocols should be shot down—basic national security.
Too bad nobody wants to shoot one down and find out..

We shot down the Chinese spy balloon over the ocean because of not wanting to shoot down over land.
How is this a different situation? I can see not wanting to shoot it over land. But it should be an easy decision to shoot down over the ocean. Why the reluctance?
That's what the Navy gave him an admiralty for. He was in the PR department and rewarded for his ability to lie.
