Amazon is planning a $1 million donation to president-elect Donald Trump’s inaugural fund, as founder Jeff Bezos and other tech leaders shore up ties with the incoming administration.
The Wall Street Journal reports that the donation is being prepared as Jeff Bezos, Amazon’s executive chairman, is slated to visit Donald Trump next week at his private Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida, according to people familiar with the matter. He’s buying a seat at the table.
Not nearly sufficient for all the propaganda and lies spewed by his news rag Washington Post. And I suspect this is purely transactional, not a true change of heart. So I’d tell him to take his money and stuff it.
If Bezos promised the money “delivered” in 2 days it will probably be “on its way” after that and take 5
“Inaugural fund” - pays for what? The inaugural ball AND what else???? Not a clue ...
Look out for the hook
Beware of snakeheads with a nefarious history. Bezos-Mayorkas-Carville.
“You knew I was a snake when you let me in”
He’s all about the money, honey...
Amazon probably has a multi billion dollar contract with the Feds for their cloud services.
This is not political. It’s all about the money.
If it were political, he’d fire everyone at the Washington Post.
He THINKS he is buying a seat at the table.
Trump will put him at the “KIDS TABLE”.
If he’d just finish cleaning up the Wash (-ed up) Post it will be fine with me
If I were Trump I return the check. And Zukerburgs too.
Also the parade. There are multiple balls.
You want to show fiscal restraint and make people happy, get sworn in and go to the WH and start working. Stop wasting money on balls and parades.
True - forgot the parade....I guess the president and first lady make appearances at all the balls, don’t they?
Thanks.
I would return it too, especially Zukerburg.
Those guys and their ilk are just rank opportunists devoid of any real principles.
Which is like any of us offering $1.00.
A huge portion of goods sold through amazon are made in China.
Bezo trying to be proactive.
