President-elect Donald Trump’s border czar Tom Homan came to Chicago on Monday to implore Mayor Brandon Johnson and Gov. JB Pritzker to “come to the table” and negotiate with him over a mass deportation plan that he declared would start right here.
Homan, the former acting head of Immigration and Customs Enforcement during Trump’s first term, began a 20-minute address at a Northwest Side GOP “holiday party” with some light ribbing before detailing his plan, which includes verifying the status of asylum seekers and arresting those who are found harboring criminals.
“Chicago’s in trouble because your mayor sucks and your governor sucks,” Homan said to cheers. Later, he called both “terrible,” while also telling them to “come to the table.”
To Johnson, who has said he would protect the city’s immigrants from federal agents, Homan said, “If he doesn’t want to help, get the hell out of the way.”
Homan threatened to arrest people who are found with the criminals he is targeting — regardless of whether he has cooperation from the city. He urged the mayor to meet with him — following the lead of New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

The obnoxious Governor of Illinois (J. B. Pritzker) challenged the Trump Administration and promised to obstruct the deportation of illegal migrants. The incoming Border Czar, Tom Homan, just served notice to Governor Jabba that there is a new Sheriff in town.
Can Homan come next to Boston?

IMHO, starting with sanctuary cities first is a bad idea. Start first with the low hanging fruit so that more can be deported with less time wasted on the legal and force needed contrasted with getting the illegals out of the Dim-run crap hole cities.
Hoping the proposed mass deportations won’t result in an increased exodus of criminal illegals and nonviolent illegals from Chicago to the rest of the state.
And any employer...from the local 7 Eleven to Boeing and Microsoft caught employing a wetback should be fined millions.
And that includes politicians...lawyers...judges...prosecutors...other government functionaries...employers...and social justice warriors.Among others.
Make it really tough on Healey....put her in a men’s prison!
Negotiate? Bring in US marshals and start arresting blue city and state officials for violating immigration laws.

Sorry, IMHO they need to work on the SWING STATES FIRST.
MA, VT, IL, and all the other deep blue states should be last on the list. Clean up MI, WI, PA, VA, MN, AZ, NH first.
All the rats will scurry off back to MA, CA, WA, MD where they think they will be protected in the sanctuary cities.
When they have cleaned out the swing states, then go after the the Dem Sanctuary States.

What Trump says when he is speechifying is one thing. What he should do is another.
Obviously he should immediately rescind Biden’s executive orders that erased the border, get the Border Patrol out of the welcome wagon business and back to doing their jobs, cut off the welfare benefits that Biden has extended to illegals from his great federal slush fund, etc. We are all in agreement about this sort of thing.
Effecting deportations is another thing. Yes, move aggressively. But start with fights we can win and that won’t be bogged down immediately in systematic opposition from local authorities. So don’t start with Chicago; the initial focus should be on red states — Texas first and foremost — where the state authorities will be active partners. Establish the precedents. Get the flow going. Show that it can be done.
Flooding the zone means going after the sanctuary states and cities as well; put them on defense immediately. The initial focus there initially should be on the criminals. Deporting the MS-13 types will be wildly popular even in blue states. But the blue state authorities will try to block as much as they can, and Trump can’t stop that. He can’t send in the army to do house-to-house searches in NYC, Chicago, or LA.
This will come down to a question of allocating limited federal law enforcement resources where they can do the most good right from the outset. Someone who knows the players should also have an eye on the courts in which the initial battles will be fought. Start with the red states — and as Texas, Florida, and other red states become untenable for the illegals, they can either choose voluntarily to go back home ... or all flee to NYC, Chicago, and LA for last ditch refuge. Want the politics to change in those jurisdictions? Let 20 million illegals flee to NYC, Chicago and LA, and work from there. The stupid states will rapidly become isolated and quarantined.
Deep blue city and state. Let them stew in their juices I say. There’s no help for them.
