Syria’s rebel forces continued their lightning advance through the country over the weekend, saying Saturday that they had seized the regions of Quneitra and Daraa near the border with Israel, as the Israel Defense Forces vowed a strong response in the event that they “turn in our direction.”
The Israeli military said Saturday evening that it was helping United Nations forces on the Syrian side of the Golan Heights repel an attack by gunmen, near the town of Hader, close to the Israeli border.

“ Israeli Army Radio:
Following developments in Syria, the army and the Northern Command launched a ground attack in the buffer zone in the Quneitra region with the aim of strengthening defense along the border with Syria.”
Major ramping up in Syria, along with the missile launches in Russia and Ukraine. It’s almost as if someone wants there to be massive disruption in the world. “If I can’t get want I want, then everyone else will be miserable, too.”
Has anyone said it’s the religion of peace lately?
Ishahia 17?
Thank you IDF and Isreal for being on the verge of eradicating Syria’s closest allies: Hamas and Hezbollah.
Hamas and Hezbollah and Iran were this time incapacitated to help Assad! And Russia is fleeing Syria now as well.
Without your massive help Isreal, all this would have been impossible.
Russia is having their very own “Joe-Biden-botched-Afghanistan-exit-scenario-on-steroids-time”!
Russia biggest humiliation in 20 years.
Religion of pieces is more likely.
Israel...
Syria is a mess. No leadership. It’ll look like Biden is running things in two days.
Welcome your new neighbors.
Translation: Don't let your hippopotamus mouth overload your hummingbird ass.
In accordance with the situational assessment following the recent events in #Syria, including the entry of armed personnel into the buffer zone, the IDF has deployed forces in the buffer zone and in several other places necessary for its defense, to ensure the safety of the communities of the Golan Heights and the citizens of Israel.
We emphasize that the IDF is not interfering with the internal events in Syria.
The IDF will continue to operate as long as necessary in order to preserve the buffer zone and defend Israel and its civilians.

We emphasize that the IDF is not interfering with the internal events in Syria.
That's a lie.
Even the Times of Israel is sloppy / incomplete in its reporting. The significant presences in Syria near the Israeli border would be Hezbollah, the Syrian (regular) Army and groups allied with them, and, the Druze. Possibly some Iranian backed Shiite militiamen from Iraq might be roaming around too. Any smaller groups probably are not much of a threat.
“Rebels on the move” IMO are most likely Hezbollah or the Druze, the latter of whom have also been reported moving toward Damascus. IIRC the Druze have a pretty significant presence in some areas of Southern Syria, but, it seems unlikely they’d want to P.O. the Israelis. OTOH, just about all 70 or so (!) Syrian based groups are trying to grab territory as a hedge as things shake out...
Russia (via Wagner) bailed out Assad's army at least twice before during the last decade of conflict.
Given how quickly the Syrian army folded (notwithstanding certain rumors going around that various officers ordered their soldiers to basically let the rebels pass without incident), it's quite possible that Russia decided to cut Assad loose, because why reinforce someone if his own soldiers refuse to defend him?
If it turns out Russia still somehow manages to keep its Mediterranean bases despite the new management, it might even be a net gain for them (especially because this puts less tension on their relationship with Israel).
Yes,it is
It’s a religion of peace tm.
There, we’ve got that covered.
Do I really need the /s? Probably so. Someone won’t get it otherwise.
Nope 😆
