Embattled French President Emmanuel Macron says that he hoped to appoint a new prime minister in the next few days, in a fiery televised address on Thursday.
Macron spoke one day after PM Michel Barnier was ousted by lawmakers in a no-confidence vote.
The president resisted calls for him to stand down, seeking instead to shift blame onto the left and right leaning factions that united to bring down Barnier’s government.
However, there is little evidence that the new era will be any smoother for Macron than the last. Whoever he chooses as prime minister must be approved by a divided parliament, where he faces opposition from both sides.
Macron is halfway through his final term as president, but the results of the snap election he called in June have severely complicated the final stages of his time in power and lessened his authority at home and abroad.
Additionally, a further snap election is not possible since the current parliament is required to sit until June, one year after the last vote.
But the National Rally leader reaffirmed on Thursday that she would oppose any effort to freeze out her wing of parliament, telling French network CNews: “We have not changed our minds: we are opposed to a left-wing Prime Minister.”

Consider the import of the above phrase/ These globalists oppose both "the left and right." Because as a corrupt elite, they are NOT center, nor center-right nor center-left. They are corrupt, and use media massively to divide and conquer.
I was privileged to watch two speeches in the Bundestag. Alice Weidel of AfD -- "extreme right" according to the globalist elite -- and Sara Wagneknecht -- "wacky left" according to the same elite in the EU. The two spoke of the same things, using different lingo but with similar intent. Government out of so many areas in which government(s) interfere for globalist agendas. The globalist pretend by using massive media messaging to be for the little guy, and when the little guy notices and opposes them, these little guys are branded as above.
What we are seeing in France is a "little guy" right and a "little guy" left now toppling an EU globalist Barnier. Signatures are mounting up in the UK as that same, supposedly opposite "left" and "right" both want the elite toppled. Germany, France, England, and of course our own recent election, in which some RINOs campaigned for a globalist mentality, while some Democrats dared to flee the plantation and vote Trump. Rebellions of little people, adding up to shifts in power over time.
Who's upset? The elite. The corrupt. The globalists. The old, entrenched who thought themselves masters of our universe. And people say no. People walk away. People learn to distrust media and their "masters." Imagine that!
There remains much to do, but the "writing is on the wall."
