Following the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in midtown Manhattan on Wednesday, some far-left journalists and social media users were quick to offer celebratory, mocking or sneering reactions to his shocking death.
Former Washington Post reporter Taylor Lorenz was among these voices, having shared multiple posts appearing to at least understand the killing while suggesting other health insurance executives should be targeted.
"And people wonder why we want these executives dead," Lorenz wrote, referencing Thompson’s death in a Bluesky post with a report about Blue Cross Blue Shield no longer covering anesthesia for the full length of some surgeries.
She later wrote on her Substack that it was "natural" to wish a similar fate on insurance honchos if you or a loved one had suffered or died after being denied coverage.

I thought Obamacare took care of everything?
Far left and some freepers. Strange bedfellows.
They are Unholy people.
It's disgusting that people were denied and ruined because of a faulty AI system he approved for his company.
Smart people can hold these thoughts simultaneously.
Sometimes the peasants have to revolt.
Exactly.
From my favorite film:
Boss: Sorry, Luke. I’m just doing my job. You gotta appreciate that. ·
Luke: Nah - calling it your job don’t make it right, Boss.
There is more going on here than left right.
It is inevitable that populism goes after the 1%ers.
This is why the 1%ers declare populism evil, aligning with the GOPe Swamp Filth.
I am no far left by any description, but what this company was/is doing is fraudulent and geared towards senior citizens.
As a Christian, I’m against the death penalty, but there needs to be justice.
Close all these websites and arrest those promoting murder and assassination.
Promoting cold blooded murder is a beyond dangerous .
Its the French Revolution mindset .
The DUmmies are being particularly vile.
You are disgusting.
You are no different than the Democrats who group people so they can praise or denigrate them.
We are conservatives. We believe in individual liberty and treating each person as an individual.
You are no conservative or populist. You are a disgraceful human being.
“Far left and some freepers. Strange bedfellows.”
Yet we all rejoice when the bad guy or enemy gets destroyed in the end. Some things just transcend division and cause common consensus. Especially if it is an enemy in common.
Cheering murder of a human being. Not unexpected from vicious lefty lunatics whose miserable lives cause them to live in a world of hate.
“It is inevitable that populism goes after the 1%ers.”
Yup.
Murdering someone in the street isn't justice. He probably would have faced some kind of real justice had the MSM spent its time investigating and airing the bad practices at UH instead of spending 24/7 on contributions in kind for the DNC.
This is not an anger thing just for the dems. Sadly I know quite a few repubs who have had awful experiences getting denied coverage even though we are all paying an arm and a leg for it since Obamacare.
“...UnitedHealthcare CEO’s murder mocked and celebrated by far-left...”
It’s very likely the CEO was a leftist himself, especially if he was a self loathing Jew. Those in the left are the biggest cheapskates.
What I meant was that there needs to be justice, but not death as the punishment.
These folks should be careful what they themselves celebrate. It's like Pharaoh decreeing a pox on his own house.
Today, it's wealthy CEOs in the business of denying healthcare.
Tomorrow, lying, corrupt journalists?
Then how many people will come out to celebrate, or just shrug.
Besides, why cheer an assassin? I suppose it's what some people do if they hate the target and love the result.
Meanwhile, since God is the one who truly knows exactly who is doing what and why, He is much better at the whole vengeance thing.
Work smart, not hard:
Haman... built his own gallows.
