The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ)'s Office of the Inspector General (OIG) has released its annual report identifying the top management and performance challenges currently facing the federal agency.
Among the OIG's findings, a lack of public trust in the DOJ remains a "longstanding" problem, Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz announced Monday, and strengthening such trust poses "a significant challenge."
However, in its 59-page report highlighting incidents that have contributed to the department's confidence crisis, the DOJ watchdog largely overlooked transgressions under the Biden-Harris administration, which still reigns. Instead, the OIG looked farther back to Trump's time in office, his first term, as we head into the president-elect's second.
Based on the OIG's oversight work, the inspector general's office blames a medley of Trump-era episodes as reasons why public trust in the institution has eroded over time.
First, the OIG report points to public statements that former federal prosecutor David Freed, a Trump-nominated U.S. attorney, made about an ongoing criminal probe into alleged ballot tampering during the 2020 presidential election.

Donald J. Trump. Of course!
Accuse your would be accuser of precisely what you are doing, thus insulating yourself from scrutiny.
“”59-page report””
Hooray! Annual report of 59 pages. What did the IG do the remainder of the year? I’ve long said IG’s of ANY agency are a total waste of taxpayer $$$. Investigate a problem, write a report and wait for another problem to rear it’s ugly head. Wonder how much of a staff this particular IG has? Yearly payroll?
I’ve seen this guy in congressional hearings and he’s impressive but still a “do nothing job” except for filing reports...Is it against fed policy to be PROACTIVE about problems? Guess so.
Burn it to the effin’ ground! It is too broke to save. The only thing I am grateful for is how they keep reminding us just how much we hate them.
If we actually listed “here’s why” the computer would run out of bits.
‘Twould be tempting to go somewhat humerous here, but in actuality, a good number of us have lost ALL respect for that loathsome department headed by a little twit who deserves lifetime prison...as opposed to the more severe and painful penalty he deserves.
Trump should fire all Inspector Generals and use the savings to hire independent outside companies to investigate all allegations of wrongdoing, whistleblower complaints, etc.
It’s impossible for these agencies to be self-policing. No different than having the Mexican cartels oversee the DEA.
Lets hope Bondi ends the “can’t speak about ongoing investigation” hide and seek BS that the swamp hides behind so conveniently.
There was a time in my life that the DOJ, the FBI and the Marshals were the only people in government I did trust. Then along came the Kenyan boy and turned them into his private Gestapo puppets. Now, the Marshals are the only ones I still trust.
OIG’s and AG’s are useless.
What ticks me off the most (and I could use harsher language) is that they are lying, we know they are lying, and they know we know they are lying. But, they do not care because they are so sure the dying lying media will cover for them and slant any news in their favor.
Federal Democrat appointees lie to our faces; they lie to Congressional committees (who shrug and move on to the next campaign sound-bite); then they repeat those lies daily. They know there are no repercussions for those lies and their paychecks (along with the pay-offs) will be deposited on schedule.
I spit in their general direction!
A pox on them all!
The DOJ looked pretty silly in the Amerithrax investigation, too. The magic bloodhound, for example.
James Comey running to Ashcroft’s bedside while the guy was suffering from gall bladder problems.
The two crooked FBI guys tied to the Democrat connected investor-influencer guy who sold his stock market holdings on September 10, 2001 the day before the hijackings.
The DOJ mucking up the cartoon war -Geller affair in Texas.
The sham case against the poor guy during the Atlanta Olympics.
Epstein.
Brushing off the Hunter Biden laptop....
flush the toilet and then flush it again for good measure

The beatings will continue until attitudes improve.
