The Redwood City Council in California voted 4-3 in favor of calling for staff to draft an ordinance for consideration that would restrict the city from cooperating with immigration authorities.
"Council voted 4 to 3 to direct staff to place an ordinance restricting the use of city resources to cooperate with ICE on a future agenda in the first quarter of 2025. Thank you, RWC!" council member Chris Sturken said in a Facebook post.
The vote came ahead of President-elect Donald Trump's upcoming Jan. 20, 2025, inauguration — Trump pledged that as president he will initiate the "largest mass deportation" in American history.
The outcome of the national and state election has brought up feelings of uncertainty and anxiety for many of us. I assure you that as your representative I will do everything in my power to make Redwood City a safer and more inclusive community for all," Sturken said in a Facebook post earlier this month.

I am torn between hammering the nail that is sticking out first, or waiting until after the largest infestations are cleared out.
Redwood City, the new fort sumter ?
to the council
there will be deportations
and you will pay for it
thru the loss of your fed funds
and obstruct and you will go to jail
cuz no one is above the law
Now Trump knows where to bus the illegals, that’s fine.
Cut their Federal funding to zero...and have the new US Attorney investigate their city officials for violations of Federal law.
(laughter)
"More inclusive" means Citizens selling and moving, as fast as they can, and illegal aliens moving in (to another alleged sanctuary) as fast as they can.
Safer?
Suspect that violent crimes will go way up, while violent crime statistics, so mysteriously, go down.
Redwood is a dump spanning the 101 freeway at the south end of of San Francisco that doesn’t have much to recommend it. You would think such a crappy city’s politicians had better things to do.
Sounds very insurrectiony. Trump needs to go all Abraham Lincoln on them.
Ordinance = Toilet Paper Strength
Collecting them in a few places, space limited to city limits, will have advantages going forward.
they are not required to help, but if they impede, they will be charged with obstruction of justice.
The RWC politicians are just seeking attention. They are deperate to appear socially and politically relevant and they aren’t ... and they won’t ever be.
All any city can do is obstruct information as to whether illegal aliens are in their jails, and restrict access to those jails in some cases. There is nothing else they can do. ICE can conduct raids in any neighborhood or building they want, and remove any individuals they want, and city officials/police cannot obstruct them in any way.
“Weather Best byGovernment Test’ Redwood City sign. It’s really nice there. Government wouldn’t lie.
Ignore morons like this, until its their turn. Then focus on them exclusively. They will run for the tall grass.

Those who announce they will impede or obstruct the necessary execution of the law should be charged first. Rather, they should be charged coincident with the execution of the necessary law.
Starting with those who hold public office and those who are public employees.
Pick a city and go full court press. Charge officials in Federal Court. All while INS/Border Patrol do their jobs.
Sounds like a plan. Of course, Trump should pull all transfer payments to the Bay Area (welfare, education, food stamps, highway funds, etc.) when that happens.
Lots of them there now.
Redwood City is the slave quarters for Palo Alto and Menlo Park. It’s heavily illegalized. Gotta have someone to do the dishes for the technoids, right?
Easy. Just subtract any monies spent on illegals from any federal funds given to the city (+ a percentage for handling costs).
