RealClearInvestigations ^ | November 25, 2024 | John R Lott Jr

In June, Victor Martinez-Hernandez was charged with the murder of Rachel Morin, a mother of five in Maryland. Police in Oklahoma tracked the accused repeat offender down with a sample of his DNA recovered from a Los Angeles home invasion in which a nine-year-old girl and her mother were assaulted. Police say he came to the U.S. illegally to escape prosecution for at least one other murder in his native El Salvador in December 2022.

GREAT article by John Lott Jr. The untold costs are in the billions. You cannot put a price tag on the psychological costs of the families and friends of the innocent victim.

A colleague of mine's daughter was married a number of years ago. On the way to the reception, the groom's parents were broadsided by a drunk illegal alien, killing both of them instantly. He faced a liberal judge who lectured the plaintiff on the "plight of illegals" and set the bail at $10,000, which he paid. No one has seen him since.

These figures are only suggestive of the extent of crime because they only list the most serious crime committed by each individual. A murderer, for example, who also committed a sex offense, is only counted as a murderer.

So once it's the "counters" clouding the truth.

They’re already criminals by trespassing across the border. They’re far more likely to commit additional crimes than are legal citizens.

They ALL committed a crime by crossing the border illegally.

Dems used fake illegal alien crime stats like this to diminish the open border problem. Much like Biden’s fake job and inflation stats, Dems counted on gas lighting to fool the masses. They made the mistake of believing their own lies.

If all were given sanctuary in sanctuary states the states would then have to come to grips with the problem. Things would change. Not like Martha’s Vineyard. It would be like Row being overturned. Now all the blue states will have their own internal discussions which will be unpleasant to say the least.

The activists use the crime rates of LEGAL immigrants, and make the invalid assumption that illegals will be the same.

My profile page has statistics which prove that migrant crime is over the top, costing this nation well in excess of $1 trillion dollars every year when all costs are estimated.

Illegals pose a crime crisis, and our nation is less safe with the amount of criminals pouring across our nation. NO nation on earth should ever put up with allowing violent criminals in which put the nations population at risk! That is the opposite of what a government is for- that is NOT protecting the nation, but endangering the nation!

Note, of course not all illegals are violent criminals, however, they are all criminals in one form or another. Wanting to live in a better nation WITHOUT going through legal means is a criminal act, and if families get separated because of such cr8minal acts, the. That is the consequences, and is NOT the fault of those enforcing the law! Cops separate legal citizens fami, ies from loved ones every day in this nation when someone commits crimes- i.legal immigrants are not special, and if they come here il,egally, they can expect to be separated from their loved ones too when they get deported!

The crime for entering the United States illegally is a federal felony under 8 U.S. Code § 1325:

Each illegal is guilty of a federal felony they moment they enter illegally.

Why would an illegal not turn himself in to the border patrol and get medical attention, food, and a ticket to his city of choice, as is being done? The answer is simple. They have a criminal record and would not be allowed in. We are talking about 2 million of these since Biden has been president.

Just look at some of our prisons, and the inmate populations will prove that the mi ority groups of illegals make up a majority of the population in prison.

Some prisons the illegals make up almost 70% of the population in prison. Despite being a minority group in the US, they still make up a majority of inmate numbers in many prisons!

My brother in law took 17 years to become an American Citizen. He did it the legal way.

Was involved in an auto accident recently with an uninsured, no driver’s license having illegal alien.
She broadsided my truck from the HOV lane on I-45 during rush hour in Houston.
Nothing happened to her, she gave a name that was probably not real, was given 2 tickets which she will never pay, probably already had another beater car the next day and went on with her life.
I had 1n insurance claim of over 13k to repair my truck, which took a month and will probably be dropped in February during my renewal.
So when someone tells me that these people are “benefits” to the country, I just tell them that yes, they take a lot of benefits.
And to the people that stick up for them I have a suggestion.
Cut your own damned grass and clean your own house.

Each illegal is guilty of a federal felony they moment they enter illegally.

FACT CHECK FALSE. Did you even bother to read the law before you posted this patently false statement?

“ He faced a liberal judge who lectured the plaintiff on the “plight of illegals” and set the bail at $10,000, which he paid. No one has seen him since.”

Had that happened to my family people would be looking for the judge.

Without success, I might add.

I’ve heard something like that. It’s a good point, and hard to refute the reasons for it.
