Chuck Schumer just confirmed another lifelong federal judge by a vote of 50-49 because Republican Senator Mike Braun did not show up to vote.
This judge will now forever serve on the D.C. court.
Senator Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona is voting with the Republicans to block the nomination, and Kamala Harris is out of town and can't cast the tie-breaking vote. Yet we still can't get Republicans to stand up and fight.
...
Senator Mike Braun knows exactly what he’s doing with his absence.
He’s voting as a Democrat.
...
So why is RINO Braun in the Republican party since his vote by omission is a Democrat vote by commission? This is at least twice now today.
...
The Democrats are trying to stack the Courts with Radical Left Judges on their way out the door. Republican Senators need to Show Up and Hold the Line — No more Judges confirmed before Inauguration Day!
RINO traitors on parade.
Kamala Harris CANNOT cast the tie breaking vote. She too, like Biden, is out of town on vacation. (Biden doing a South American global warming, G20 photo-op on the beaches. )
November 21 22 December 2 3 4 5 6 9 10 11 12 13 16 17 18 19 20
Swamp rinos on the prowl to roadblock PDJT.
Can’t argue with that. Young is indeed terrible for Indiana. But Braun has some explaining to do on why he’s missing these votes.
Primary Braun, no more clowns needed.
Braun should have resigned his seat the day after he was elected governor. But no —- he’ll wait until the day his term as governor starts so he can appoint his own replacement.
well i have to say it wouldn’t have mattered this time because cackles would cast the tie breaker
I agree. I called his offices and DC and in Indy—and asked his staffers, they had no explanation.
Banks was just elected to replace him.
So he’s possibly avoiding his constiuency to keep from answering for his absence.
Have you ever heard of the neat invention called an airplane? Even if she had to take a Galleon Sail Ship to America and cross America in a wagon train the Senate would hold the vote until she arrived. The Senate is a polite place unlike the vagabonds in the House of Representatives! :-)
So Braun should have resigned and let the guv appoint Banks immediately.
Scumbag bastard!
All of them giddy with their self importance and desire to create stumbling blocks for Donald Trump...
Braun didn’t run for reelection. Banks ran for his senate seat and won. Braun will continue as Senator until his term expires in January and then Banks will be sworn in to begin his term.
If Braun had a brain he would resign so his Republican replacement could get a little seniority - that could mean something later.
And right now it would mean another R on the skirmish line instead of a MIA.
It would also be one less rep in the house where we currently have a very slim majority.
