Long before Karl Marx was even born. Long before Karl Marx was a sperm cell in his father’s dreams, the Pilgrims had discovered and experimented with what could only be described as socialism, and they found that it didn’t work. Now, it wasn’t called that then. But that’s exactly what it was. Everybody was given an equal share. You know what happened? Nobody did anything. There was no incentive. Nothing worked. Nothing happened.
“What Bradford and his community found was that the most creative and industrious people had no incentive to work any harder than anyone else, unless they could utilize the power of personal motivation! But while most of the rest of the world has been experimenting with socialism for well over a hundred years — trying to refine it, perfect it, and re-invent it — the Pilgrims decided early on to scrap it permanently. What Bradford wrote about this social experiment should be in every schoolchild’s history lesson. If it were, we might prevent much needless suffering,” if the true story of Thanksgiving had been taught for years and years and years.

We were also very fortunate to begin listening to El Rush-Bo his first week in Sacramento.
His The Real Story Of Thanksgiving is something we think about throughout the year. Rush would be ecstatic at President Trump returning to the Oval office. Hussein talked about "fundamentally transforming America." Now is the time to return to the fundamentals of Truth, Justice, and the American Way. The more the Drive-By Media yell and scream, the more on target is President Trump.
Thanks for posting
Another great lecture is The True Story of the Revolution by Michael Medved.
Literally drew his last breath for his audience, a servant’s attitude. You get the feeling Trump’s the same level of commitment. And we have Jim Robinson. Bannon seems to be following the trajectory. I don’t see Reagan the same way, I think he did his job and retired, and that was right for him. Obama hangs around , he loves no one but Obama.
Most of the details on the ground in Plymouth 1620~~ comes from Bradford’s diary.
The whole thing is a good read, and the audio book is just as good IMHO.
In this audio book, the section dealing with the failed redistributionist policies appear in the audio file pertaining to book 2 chapter 4, and start around 7:20 of the audio.
Here is the excerpt from the written text: (page 116) https://archive.org/details/bradfordshistply00brad/page/116/mode/2up
“The failure of this experiment of communal service, which was tried for several years, and by good and honest men proves the emptiness of the theory of Plato and other ancients, applauded by some of later times, — that the taking away of private property, and the possession of it in community, by a commonwealth, would make a state happy and flourishing; as if they were wiser than God. For in this instance, community of property (so far as it went) was found to breed much confusion and discontent, and retard much employment which would have been to the general benefit and comfort. For the young men who were most able and fit for service objected to being forced to spend their time and strength in working for other men’s wives and children, without any recompense. The strong man or the resourceful man had no more share of food, clothes, etc., than the weak man who was not able to do a quarter the other could. This w^as thought injustice. The aged and graver men, who were ranked and equalized in labour, food, clothes, etc., with the humbler and younger ones, thought it some indignity and disrespect to them. As for men’s wives who were obliged to do service for other men, such as cooking, washing their clothes, etc., they considered it a kind of slavery, and many husbands would not brook it. This feature of it would have been worse still, if they had been men of an inferior class. If (it was thought) all were to share alike, and all were to do alike, then all were on an equality throughout, and one was as good as another; and so, if it did not actually abolish those very relations which God himself has set among men, it did at least greatly diminish the mutual respect that is so important should be preserved amongst them. Let none argue that this is due to human failing, rather than to this communistic plan of life in itself. I answer, seeing that all men have this failing in them, that God in His wisdom saw that another plan of life was fitter for them.”
25 years or so ago when my daughter was in elementary school the teacher sent home an assignment, What does Thanksgiving mean to you!. I told her it was the Celebration of the End of Communism in the USA and gave her a book on Bradfords Diary to take to school. The teacher LOVED it and she got a big old Gold Star on her paper.
She was the only one in the School with an accurate historical portrayal of what Thanksgiving meant.
I couldn’t see any teacher today appreciating that.
But I’m glad that worked out for you. Bradford’s book is such an important work to have access to in any format it can be obtained.
Don’t know if you saw the link that Hojczyk provided, but in it Rush Limbaugh notes how even he was mis-taught Thanksgiving and that was many more than 25 years ago!
That just goes to show everybody just how many decades that progressives have been (or trying to) turn schools into indoctrination centers.
The problem is not just about what progressives add, so that they can manipulate our history.
It’s also, and perhaps even moreso about what the progressives remove and destroy. And they’ve been doing it to our schools for over a century. If you just remove all of the good information, anybody can be transformed into a villain. Look at how many decades it took for the progressives to turn George Washington into the caricature he is today.
Today she would be expelled and the Police would be at my door for doing that, during the time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.
