Texas Salon Owner Jailed for COVID Lockdown Violation Wins Seat in Legislature

A former Dallas salon owner who was jailed for re-opening her salon during COVID-19 will now be the next state representative for Texas House District 62. Shelley Luther won the election with nearly 80 percent of the vote.

Luther received nearly 67,000 votes to defeat Democrat challenger Tiffany Drake in the far North Texas legislative seat election.

In April 2020, Breitbart Texas reported that Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins (D) ordered that Luther be jailed for contempt of his order to close her business during the COVID-19 lockdown period.

Dallas police came to her salon several times allegedly responding to complaints about people gathering outside the salon. The store had security guards in place to control access to the store and maintain social distancing, the news outlet reported.

It was all a big lie perpetrated by Fauci, Collins, Wollensky and Birks. People went to jail and others died because ivermectin, zine and Zpaks were torched by NIH crew and their willing henchmen in the media.

Including that county ‘judge’. We need to clearly delineate that any judge’s authority is limited, not unlimited. Not just that they can’t make law. What if a judge orders everyone in his jurisdiction to carry a $20 bill on them at all times? (As one example of exceeding authority.) That county judge was clearly over-stepping his authority. And the police just went along with it. Keep that in mind. They work for us, not the other way around as the bureaucrats seem to think.

What a fantastic turnaround for Luther!

Victims of government are especially tuned to making sure we are not hurt anymore by it.

Ditto the feel good story of the day. That said, there weren’t a lot of feel good stories at the height of the Covid hysteria. There are hundreds of thousands of stories of people getting shafted. The one that sticks in my mind is a popular eats place in my university town that had to file for bankruptcy. The long time owner decided to retire and sold the business. 6 months later Covid hit and everything was shut down. All of the new owner’s customers evaporated and had to declare bankruptcy.

Cook county/Chicago were dragging out the Covid response directives through early 2022 until Omicron took hold. It basically sucked in any of the bigger Illinois metro areas...

You are being rather kind. On a different note Fox news has resurrected Rod Blagojevich for some part time commentary. He left prison with silver hair, but is back to mostly black hair. Even after spending 10 years in the clink, he still knows how democrats operate....
