The FEMA supervisor who told workers to avoid Trump homes was scapegoated

Last week, the Daily Wire revealed that FEMA workers in Florida received instructions from their supervisor, Marn’i Washington, telling them to avoid houses with Trump signs. Over the weekend, FEMA self-righteously apologized and let everyone know that it had fired Washington. Now, though, Washington has gone on the Roland Martin show to explain that what she did is standard FEMA operating practice. Listening to her muddy use of language, the real question is whether those Trump supporters are actually dangerous or if they just give FEMA workers the “sadz,” an institutional attitude that’s not Washington’s fault.

In the video below, you can hear Washington, a FEMA reservist who also had a day job (from which she was fired, too), explain that she doesn’t have any specific evidence about dangerous Trump voters. Instead, for privacy reasons, FEMA records will just record that a certain community was dangerous. That’s why if there are too many hostile encounters, FEMA workers will just avoid a whole neighborhood—and Trump signs were associated with this level of hostility. Washington added that she didn’t even vote in this election, admitting that she was too busy, although she implies that she’s non-partisan (which may, of course, be true).

Washington explained that there are a lot of safety rules for FEMA workers. For example, if they see people who painted purple markings on their property, that means that the homeowners will shoot trespassers. FEMA workers avoid those houses.

What does stand out is how Washington describes those houses that can cause a whole neighborhood to be blacklisted. Thus, she says that homeowners saying “drain the Swamp” was considered a reason to avoid homes in a community.

If she was scapegoated, probably for the best.

Their governnent paranoia was showing in the NC mountains. They were so afraid of armed anti-governnent Trump supporting militia mountain boogie men that they were paralyzed. It made the news!

She may have been scapegoated but I have no doubt that the discrimination was FEMA wide.

Every day now we see more irrefutable evidence that the entire Biden administration from top to bottom was engaged in extreme anti-conservative discrimination based on political persuasion and DEI classification.

The “purple marking” must be a secret FEMA way of marking homes they want to discriminate against.
It’s certainly not something we have previously heard homeowners doing.

And identifying a home/homeowner as dangerous because of the term “Deep State is insane but something we can believe about the Biden administration.

Chances are she (as well as other FEMA workers) are safer in a neighborhood with Trump signs than in her own home.

(But numbers are racist!)

Appalachia: The big white ghetto:

There's not much violent crime here. There's a bit of the usual enterprise one finds everywhere there are drugs and poor people, which is to say, everywhere. But even the crime here is pretty well predictable. The police chief's assistant notes that if they know the nature and location of a particular crime, they can more or less drive straight to the perpetrator. There's a great deal of drug use, welfare fraud, and the like, but the overall crime rate throughout Appalachia is about two thirds the national average, and the rate of violent crime is half the national average.

PURPLE in accordance with the purple paint law (adopted in several states including North Carolina) simply means the property is posted as NO HUNTING, FISHING,or TRAPPING and let you know you are on private property

The leadership at FEMA might be legitimately frightened.

This comes from an attitude that has been propagated through DC from a few ultra left nutcases. Whether it’s Nancy Pelosi walking outside the Capitol with her gavel in defiance during of passage of Obama care, to the nuts in Michigan covering the windows so no one could see how they were counting ballots, the government tone has been one of arrogance. It’s hardly been “we’re here to help”.

Whatever the reason, the directive to avoid certain houses was executed poorly.

Do you think painted purple markings on property or a Trump sign is best to keep the IRS away? 🤣

She was a reservist. Anybody can apply to be a FEMA Reservist. It is a part time job for which you decide when you are available to deploy (once deployed it can be for an extended duration depending on the disaster and the requirement for your position). Reservists can be let go at any time, they do not get insurance, retirement benefits or any of the other perks that regular employees get.

No police or FEMA people whispered a word about ‘threats’ until this jerk got caught skipping past homes with Trump signs?

Please!

You KNOW FEMA must have an official protocol, documentation and very scrupulous reporting procedures for things like ‘threats’ to FEMA employees in the field!

Why is there none of that on record or announced (THEN OR SINCE) before this creep got caught playing God with peoples lives??????????

Read this carefully

I guarantee that the left qualifies what they did with this language.

Yes, I support Trump dismantling this agency. States should play a MUCH larger role in disaster planning/response (each state has their own challenges) and federal assets - logistical & monetary - could easily be managed by an office within another agency.
